She loves to dish about her relationships publicly…but Swift does so in a more subtle way than Mayer…like in her new song called “Dear John”. Hmmmm, who could THAT song be about?
Let me start by saying first off, reading the lyrics to Taylor’s new song that included the name “John” made me throw up in my mouth a bit and feel a tad uncomfortable. And yes, the song is called “Dear John”. While I somehow knew that Johnny was trying to kick it with Taylor Swift, in the back of my mind, I didn’t want to believe it. But, knowing that Taylor is a naive kitten face with curiousness and a virginal sense of self, I had a hunch that she was enamored with the smooth talking douche face. And for some odd reason, these lyrics made me believe that she may have lost her *gulp virginity *gulp to one of the biggest Douchebags on the planet.
Apparently this new album of hers is about many of her recent love experiences. But John Mayer?
Check out the lyrics to the chorus below:
I see it all now that you’re gone
Don’t you think I was too young
To be messed with
The girl in the dress
Cried the whole way home
I should’ve known.
It was wrong
Don’t you think nineteen’s too young
To be played
By your dark, twisted games
When I loved you so.
My mother accused me of losing my mind
But I swore I was fine
You’ll add my name to your long list of traitors
Who don’t understand
And I’ll look back in regret
I ignored what they said ‘Run as fast as you can.”
So how do we know this one is about John Mayer? Duh.
Swift even said, “Every single song is like a road map to what that relationship stood for, with little markers that maybe everyone won’t know, but there are things that were little nuances of the relationship, little hints. And every single song is like that. Everyone will know, so I don’t really have to send out e-mails on this one.”
