Soulja Boy, 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards
Soulja Boy tore up the 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards, where he recently had the honor of performing “Speakers Going Hammer” and “Pretty Boy Swag” Tuesday night. Joined by a number of back-up dancers, Soulja Boy managed to keep fellow musicians Rick Ross and Diddy dancing in their seats. Yup, it was that good- just like the artist’s upcoming album, The DeAndre Way, promises to be. The album drops November 30th, and we’ve got all the details- including the video of Soulja Boy’s Hip-Hop Awards performance!
On how The DeAndre Way differs from his past work, Soulja Boy explains:
My whole creative process is different now. My beats tend to dictate the way I’m gonna sound. If it’s a Soulja Boy Tell ‘em beat, it’ll more likely end up as a single, maybe something with a dance to it. But I spit fire on other producers’ beats because it allows me more freedom to go different places lyrically. That variety is the difference between this album and the first album. On the first album, I produced every beat so every song had that commercial, kiddie feel because I was 16. But bringing different producers to the table, I get motivated to rip other people’s joints.
You can check out the BET performance HERE- and remember, The DeAndre Way will be available everywhere November 30th and will feature Soulja Boy’s new single “Blowing Me Kisses”… Enjoy!
