It’s the thing to do if you are a celebrity, get yourself a clothing line. Duh!
In an already tight economy, it is hard to believe that many of the celebrity clothing lines manage to survive for as long as they do. The Sarah Jessica Parker clothing line is the latest in the celebrity fashion world to be out of a home.
Women around the world admired Sarah Jessica Parker for her fashionable and brave fashion attire she sported in her hit television series Sex and the City.
With the demand of her show fashion sense and her personal style, women wanted to wear what Sarah wore. Thus, Bitten was born, affordable and stylish clothing for classy and sassy women.
However even after being featured on Oprah, selling her stuff at Steve & Barry’s Department stores and being highly promoted, Sarah Jessica Parker’s clothing line started to self destruct. As Steve & Barry’s filed for bankruptcy, Parker’s Bitten brand was thrown out as well.
Sarah Jessica Parker’s clothing line was just not any celebrity clothing line. It was successful due to its lower prices that wouldn’t break the “average” fashionista’s bank.
Because of the suffering economy, Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t the only celebrity to have trouble with their lines. Jennifer Lopez, Lauren Conrad and Mandy Moore have also been victims of tough times.
There are rumors that Parker would like to partner with another retailer, however there are no official plans to revive Bitten. Such a shame!
