Michelle Williams strips down to her panties and bra for GQ magazine. And while I know that she is purely in My Life as Marilyn Monroe movie promotional mode, I find this shoot rather uncomfortable. The interview was also a tad awkward as once again Williams is talking about her baby daddy Heath Ledger’s death. While I realize Heath’s passing was a trying time in Michelle’s life (especially for the sake of her daughter), I feel just a tad irritated that she is STILL using this topic as a form of promotion. Is this wrong of me to feel this way?
At any rate, check out the highlights from the interview where Williams talks about being “sexy” (which is odd in itself), her award-winning role as Marilyn and yes, once again…Heath Ledger below.
ON HER BREAKOUT ROLE ON “DAWSON’S CREEK” AND BEING SEXY ON THE BIG SCREEN:
“I wouldn’t say that that would be one of my first qualities as a human being–being sexy. And I think because my character on Dawson’s Creek was sexy…sexualized…sexual…I saw all the negative attention and connotations that can come along with that. And that those things can keep people from seeing you clearly.”
ON WHY SHE AND HEATH LEDGER WERE DRAWN TO EACH OTHER:
“There’s an answer that I know but I don’t want to say … Our initial meeting, the circumstances of how we first met, were cosmic or something … Yeah, a lot of things happened at once. It’s a bit like: We had a lot of things to do, because we didn’t have a lot of time, or something.”
ON WHETHER SHE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT SHE AND LEDGER WOULD HAVE EVENTUALLY ENDED UP TOGETHER:
“That would make me way too sad to answer … I said it would make me too sad to answer but it’s also … one of my favorite things to imagine. It’s actually one of my favorite places to visit.”
Now who am I to say, but Ledger obviously had some demons and was medicating himself with booze and drugs. Could have he rehabbed himself and fallen back into the life of active fatherhood focusing on his future with his baby mama?
He was hanging out with Lilo for cripe’s sake so who knows really if he would have broken free from that hot mess but I am sure Williams often ponders the “what ifs”. At any rate, for me to see Williams on the cover of a mag in a bra and panties is like watching Demi Moore in the movie “Striptease”. You turn your head and cover your face in shame but yet you can’t help but take a little look through slightly open fingers. Awkward!
