VIP Fashion Tip of the Day: Myth or Fact – Methods to Remove Eye Makeup

I’ve always heard about people using non-traditional methods to remove their eye makeup. Personally, I’ve always been loyal to what I know works: makeup wipes, eye makeup remover, cleanser etc. I decided to finally go outside my comfort zone and put these non-traditional methods to the test to see if they really work.

First up was removing eye makeup with Vaseline. Mind you, I dislike anything greasy so this was a bit hard to convince myself to try. I simply wiped some Vaseline onto my eyelid and then wiped away with a large cotton ball. It was surprisingly very easy to do and didn’t require any rubbing. It’s definitely easier than some eye makeup removers I have used in the past. So, myth or fact? FACT! This is a great alternative when you run out of your normal cleanser or even for every day use.

Second up was removing eye makeup with olive oil. I poured a small amount onto a large cotton ball and then wiped across my eyelid. It removed all my eye makeup in one swipe and was just as easy as the Vaseline. So, myth or fact? FACT! However, I preferred the Vaseline to the olive oil method because my skin felt softer afterwards.

From now on whenever I’m in a bind or run out of my cleanser I can turn to these household products to remove all my eye makeup! Try it tonight and see what you think!
