7. The Actress Is as Tall as Most American Women

Megan Fox may seem to be tall but various credible platforms have reported that the American actress stands at 5 feet 4 inches (1.63 m). While her height has never constituted a problem for her career, it might not be wrong for one to assert that she is not as tall as most actresses in Hollywood.

This is because various reports have claimed that the average height for women in the industry is 5 feet 5 inches while that of men is 5 feet 10 inches.

Fox is an inch off the said average but she is far from being the least tall as she is taller than popular actresses like Reese Witherspoon (5 feet 1¾ inch), Anna Kendrick (5 feet 2 inches), Jennifer Love Hewitt (5 feet 2 inches), and Nicole Richie (5 feet 1 inch), to name a few.

Compared to women in her country, the actress is of average height; it is said that the average height for women in the United States is 5 feet 4 inches (1.63 m).

Even though she is of average height in the United States, she would be regarded as short in countries like Montenegro and the Netherlands. These countries are said to have the tallest of women and their average height is 5 feet 7 inches (1.70 m).

But then, she would be considered a tall woman in Timor-Leste and Laos: the average height for women in these countries are 4 feet 12 inches (1.52 m) and 5 feet (1.53 m), respectively.

In all, the actress’ height is perfect for her body which she reportedly maintains around 52 kg (114 lbs). To stay in shape, she follows a strict daily diet and follows a five-factor workout.

It was in Oak Ridge, a city located in the easter part of Tennessee that the famous actress was born. It is no secret she was born on the 16th of May 1986 to Franklin Thomas Fox who was a parole officer and Gloria Darlene.

Of Irish, French, and Native American ancestry, Megan Denise Fox came from a broken home. Her parents separated when she was just three years old, and as a result, Megan and her sister were raised by their mom, who later remarried Tony Tonachio. The actress stayed with her mom and stepfather until she could fend for herself.

Although she was born in Oak Ridge, Megan spent most of her early life in Rockwood, also in Tennessee.

Growing up, she had interests in many things and involved herself in several extracurricular activities, including dancing, drama, swimming, and jump rope: she was enrolled in a dance class at age five; was a member of the Kingston choir, as well as the Clipper swim team.

When she was ten years old, she moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where she first attended Morningside Academy in Port St. Lucie, before she became a student of St. Lucie West Centennial High School.

Megan didn’t get to properly finish high school before she moved to Los Angeles at the age of 17. She hated school because she was often bullied and was motivated to test out of schooling because she believed the education she was getting was irrelevant.

The actress doesn’t think much of formal education and is not college-educated. Her decision to move to Los Angeles was motivated by the fact that she had been modeling since she was 13.

Her modeling career began after she bagged multiple awards at the 1999 American Modeling and Talent Convention held in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

5. She Made Her Acting Debut In 2001 as Brianna In Holiday in the Sun

At age three, Fox was already fascinated by acting and was stunned by the character of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. When she turned 15, in 2001, she kicked off her acting career with her first film in Holiday in the Sun, where she played the role of Brianna Wallace.

In the years that followed, she was seen in several popular productions, including Two and a Half Men, Bad Boys II, What I Like About You, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Hope and Faith, and many more.

The actress earned her breakthrough in 2007 following her outstanding performance as Mikaela Banes in the science fiction action film, Transformers. The critically acclaimed movie earned her an MTV Movie Award nomination for Breakthrough Performance, as well as three Teen Choice Awards.

Two years later, she was back on set reprising her role as Mikaela Banes in its sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. After an outstanding performance in Revenge of the Fallen, fans were already envisaging a third sequel of the robot-inspired series when Megan revealed she was leaving the franchise. This decision and other reasons constituted quite a serious downturn to Megan’s flourishing career.

During her time on the Transformers franchise, Megan had a feud with movie director Michael Bay, which also involved Steven Spielberg. The actress later revealed that her reason for leaving the franchise was the unfair treatment she received from the movie’s director. Bay in response said that Megan had compared him to Hitler.

As a result, Spielberg, who was the movie’s producer, ordered that she should be fired. That incident alone left Megan in the dark and also led other filmmakers to see her as a very difficult person to work with.

4. Her Movies Have Grossed Over $2.6 Billion at The WorldWide Box Office

Her fallout with the director of the Transformers franchise, coupled with the fact that other movies she featured in after quitting the franchise turned out to be total disasters, Megan found herself struggling with a decline in her career. In 2009, the actress starred in Diablo Cody’s movie, Jennifer’s Body, which got canceled internationally for poor performance.

Houston Film Critics Society called the movie the worse picture of the year. The following year, she starred in two other poorly rated movies, Passion Play and Jonah Hex, which was termed the worse movie for that year.

Despite her predicaments, Megan Fox didn’t give up on finding her footing in the American movie industry.

Interestingly, she and Michael Bay have since set aside their differences as they worked together on the set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a 2014 fictional superhero film, as well as its 2016 sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

Her other movie appearances include The Dictator, Above the Shadows, This Is 40, The Battle of Jangsari, Think Like a Dog, Rogue, Till Death, Midnight in the Switchgrass, Night Teeth, among others.

In all, her movies have grossed over $2.6 billion ($2,657,177,858) at the worldwide box office. She has not limited her acting career to the big screen. Megan Fox has portrayed multiple characters in television productions since she played Ione Starr in the Swedish-American daytime soap opera, Ocean Ave.

She guest-starred as Shannon in the “Like a Virgin” episode of What I Like About You and Prudence in a 2004 episode of Two and a Half Men before she took up the main role of Cassandra Ridgeway in The WB sitcom, The Help.

Disregarding that, her other major television roles are as Sydney Shanowski in Hope & Faith and Reagan Lucas in the television sitcom created by Elizabeth Meriwether, New Girl.

The gorgeous actress is a divorcee. She was previously married to American actor and producer Brian Austin Green. The two got married in 2010 after being together for six years.

The former couple reportedly met for the first time in 2004, on the set of Hope & Faith. Despite their age difference — Megan was 18 and Brian was 30 — they fell in love and soon started dating; although Megan had to convince Brian that she was old enough for him.

Sometime in 2009, roughly three years after they got engaged (in 2006), it circulated that Megan and Brian had called off their engagement. But then, the following year saw them get married in a private wedding that was held at the Four Seasons Resort in Maui.

It was in 2015 that the actress first filed for divorce, but before the divorce proceedings began, Megan and Brian had resolved their differences and were back together. In 2019, Fox filed to have the divorce dismissed.

Barely a year later, in May 2020, the actor disclosed that he and the actress have parted ways. Before the year ran out, Megan filed for divorce from Brian a second time; this was in November 2020. Reports have it that their divorce was finalized on the 15th of October 2021.

2. She Is a Mother of Three

If you were not told, it would be hard for you to guess that the actress has given birth to three kids. Fox and Green had three sons together before their marriage packed up. Their first son named Noah was born in 2012 and two years later (in 2014), Bodhi joined the family. They welcomed their third child named Journey in 2016.

Apart from Noah, Bodhi, and Journey, Megan Fox was also a stepmom to Green’s son named Kassius; he had him in 2002 from a previous relationship.

1. The Transformers Actress Began Dating Machine Gun Kelly in 2020

In June 2020, a month after Megan Fox’s ex-husband disclosed that he and the actress has parted ways, Megan and American rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) went public with their relationship.

The lovers met earlier that year on the set of the crime thriller film, Midnight In The Switchgrass; this was in March. By May, it was already being rumored that they were dating. While there have been speculations that the Actress cheated on her ex-husband with the rapper, Green has dismissed this.

Details of what led to the end of the marriage between Fox and Green are hard to come by but the actor shared on his podcast, Brian Austin Green, that Megan pulled the plug on the marriage.

According to him, the actress felt like she need to explore being alone for a while. Thereafter, she spent several weeks away from home filming and ultimately decided that it would be better to end the marriage.

Since the actress and the rapper went public with their relationship, they have been all over each other and seem to be genuinely in love. They have pictures of each other littered across their social media pages and Megan has even described MGK as her soulmate.
