Is anyone paying attention to Suze Orman anymore? Certainly not rappers, apparently. We all know that most of them can’t read, but that’s what Suze Orman is for. Or get the audio book!
Because who’s being taken to court right now? Two stars in hip-hop. First up is Young Jeezy, who is being sued by his former best friend and the former partner of his start-up record label. Demetrius Ellerbee is claiming that he started a label with Jeezy and was denied royalties as well. How much are we talking about here? Well, the claim is for $5 million, which probably means it was closer to $1 million. You know Americans and their whole ‘pain and suffering/emotional stress’ litigation tactics. And who else is being chased by Uncle Sam? None other than the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul.
Mary J. Blige may be the queen, but in America, the queen has to pay taxes to Uncle Sam to the tune of $900,000. That’s at least one hit single’s worth of money. Better hop to it, Mary! If the Queen of England pays taxes, you better believe any over here are gonna have to give the tax man a piece!
