Geez, somebody has their party pooper pants on today! Jonathan Pierce, singer of The Drums, is saying that Kings of Leon needs to split basically because they suck.
Check out what he has to say about KOL, who recently supported his group while on tour.
Pierce tells ClickMusic.com, “I would advise them to split up and stop making music. I don’t think they’re really helping anybody – they’ve never made a song that’s really touched me in any way. I honestly think that the new Britney Spears record is better than their songs. They’re very American bar rock and it’s not interesting, it doesn’t affect me at all.” In other words, he isn’t a fan of Britney either.
But apparently Pierce doesn’t totally hate ALL of the Kings’ band members. He added, “I do have to say that Jared was a very kind man and he’s smarter than he’s letting on. I don’t think he really enjoys the music that Kings Of Leon are putting out. I’ve had long conversations with him and he’s very open to me. He has really great taste in music and likes really great bands. I think he looks at Kings of Leon and it’s just a job that he has.”
But get this, Pierce isn’t the only one to take a big fat jab at Kings of Leon. Remember Mmmmbop singer Isaac Hanson? Apparently he thinks the band members need to get their attitudes right. Hanson said, “I have a hard time with musicians who act like p**cks because it just makes me mad. I just sit there and I go, ‘You know what, dude, no matter whether you’re in a band just surviving or you’re in a bus playing stadiums, one way or another you’re still among the rare breed of people that are actually getting paid to do it.’ “If you’re actually making a living doing it, man, pinch yourself every day, because it goes if you don’t love it… and people will eventually get p**sed off. And I’m gonna call somebody out on it – the Kings of Leon guys are running some risks. They’re irritating people; you can’t do that too much. Eventually the bad boy image affects fans’ willingness to show up. Their fans will get bummed out.”
Damn! If Isaac Hanson had the balls to call these guys out, it MUST be bad!
