Hilary Duff, Mike Comrie prenup?
Hilary Duff and her hockey playing fiancé Mike Comrie tied the knot last weekend, but not before making sure a prenup was in place. While it may not sound all that romantic, it’s a necessary evil. After all, Sir Paul McCartney may be a hopeless romantic, but a prenup would’ve served him well after his split from Heather Mills. Just sayin’.
But if you’re wondering why the former Disney star would be so bothered to get a prenup, you may be surprised to learn the details. And by details I mean the fact that the prenup most likely wasn’t for Duff’s peace of mind.
Why, you ask? Oh, because his family is worth around $500 million. That’s right, Mike Comrie is heir to his father’s furniture and appliance business, ‘The Brick’. Which, of course, is also Comrie’s hockey nickname. I’m guessing the prenup was more to protect Comrie’s family’s assets than Hilary’s.
I suppose that engagement ring that is reported to have cost around $1 million should’ve been our first clue Comrie wasn’t just any ol’ hockey player. Or that $100K G-Wagon for Hil’s birthday.
No worries though, a source says the prenup was a “totally amicable agreement” and that “they love each other very much and knew this was just a technicality.”
