Emma Stone moves from Easy A to the next Spider-Man film.
Emma Stone is reportedly about to sign on for the untitled Spider-Man reboot. The redheaded beauty will be offered the role of Mary Jane Watson, Spidey’s main squeeze. She would step into the role previously played by Kirsten Dunst in the last three movies.
In July, Sony announced that Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) would take over from Tobey Maguire as our favorite web-slinger. Stone recently wrapped production on the romantic comedy Friends with Benefits with Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. She is currently filming the period drama The Help, based on Kathryn Stockett’s bestseller of the same name. She is also reportedly being eyed for the 21 Jump Street big screen adaptation of the 1980’s television series, which could potentially reunite her with Superbad co-star Jonah Hill, who is writing the script. This girl is on her way to stardom.
The latest Spider-Man movie plot is very hush hush. There was some talk of making Peter Parker a high school student, but with the 27 year old Garfield as the new Spidey it appears Sony has scrapped that idea. As casting continues, the next logical step is to wonder about who the new villain or villains might be?
