Elizabeth Taylor dies at 79
Sad news as ABC news confirms that Elizabeth Taylor passed away today at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. The Oscar winning actress and Hollywood Icon was 79 years old and surrounded by her family. Read what her son Michael Wilding had to say below.
Wilding says, “My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world. Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished. We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for my Mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts.”
In addition to her children, Elizabeth Taylor is survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her publicist, Sally Morrison, said that a private family funeral will be held later in the week. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. If you want to send a personal message, you can log on to her official Facebook page HERE.
The actress, who became known for her eccentricity and seven marriages, had become increasingly frail looking and only 6 weeks ago, she was hospitalized with congestive heart failure. Our thoughts are with the family. RIP, Elizabeth Taylor- you will forever be fierce and fabulous.
