More than just celebrity gossip

Chris Brown and Rihanna BET Awards mix up prompts “Boos” from crowd

It was a fabulous BET Awards show for Chris Brown. It was all good for Brown as he took home FIVE awards, but it was a huge mix up that put Brown against his ex RiRi for the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Awards. During the winning moment, Tiffany Green first announced that Brown one then quickly said that she was sorry and that Rihanna REALLY one.

Ouch! Many are saying it was a publicity stunt and it very well could have been!

Green presented the Viewers’ Choice Award and claims she was just an innocent victim while reading the teleprompter. I mean, what’s a girl to do?

We’ve got that “awkward” moment on video for you to check out below.

The awards tablet read “Chris Brown” while the teleprompter read “Rihanna” It was the expression on Green’s face that was effing classic. Apparently Green was told that the winner was Rihanna but it was when she called Brown’s name first and then switched the winner to Rihanna that the crowd “booed” in disgust. The award was REALLY supposed to be Brown’s.

Accepting Rihanna’s award was Drake, who described the moment as “awkward”.
And yeah, it was definitely that.

BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials, Stephen Hill, apologized for the mix-up saying, “That BET Awards Viewers Choice mix-up was due to human error. And I was the human that made that error. I apologize to all affected.”
