Charice Pyramid Billboard Dance Chart, #1 spot!
Charice, one of Oprah’s favorites, is having some great chart success even before the release of her debut album.
Girlfriend should be happy and ready to celebrate as she has a lot to be happy for. Not only will she be celebrating the release of her self titled debut album, but she will also perform on Oprah (on May 11th) and perform on QVC later that night. And in case you didn’t know, QVC IS the place to sell your album if you’ve got the right target market.
And director of merchandising for QVC Rob Ellerstein said about Charice’s debut release, “We are thrilled to have Charice debuting her new album on QVC. As one of the most highly-anticipated releases this year, Charice’s appearance promises to be one that fans won’t want to miss.”
And hello, if getting a number one song on the Billboard Dance charts isn’t something to celebrate, then I’d just be happy to have Oprah on my side.
Charice said, “I feel very blessed to have people like David Foster, Oprah Winfrey, my Reprise family and the QVC people believe in me…I know the week of May 10th will be a week I will remember for the rest of my life.” Mmmhmm. You go girl!
Charice, who has already racked up more than 13 million views on YouTube, began her singing career at age four when her mother discovered her singing on a table and went on to perform in several singing contests in Southeast Asia. One of her many fans (“Chasters”) put one of her performances on YouTube and a star was born. She first appeared in the US on The Ellen Show on and then came to the attention of “Hit Man” David Foster, who signed her to his 143/Reprise Records. In 2009, Charice revisited the Oprah Show to perform the Diane Warren-written and David Foster-produced “Note to God”. In the weeks that followed, the Foster-produced track sold 110,000 total downloads.
