Rising pop singer Duncan recently unveiled his new acoustic cover of Train’s hit song “Drive By,” and since y’all know I’m a sucker for acoustic renditions of songs, you who
Y’all should know by now that I’m a huge fan of an acoustic version of a song. As a matter of disclosure, I’m also a sucker for a song highlighting piano or a violin. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that I’m currently digging rising pop singer Duncan’s new acoustic cover of Train’s hit song “Drive By.”
The cover also features Youtube sensation Jon D, and the video, which is racking up thousands of views, follows up Duncan’s “Free Music Friday” covers of Justin Bieber, David Guetta, and Usher.
Duncan also recently debuted the official video for his single, “Light Up The Sky,” (now available on iTunes), which served as the NCAA Men’s Basketball theme song and will appear on his upcoming debut album on A&M/Octone.

Imagine Dragons recently premiered the video for their single, “It’s Time” on MTV and was even chosen by the network last week as its PUSH artist of the week. The single is the first track off the band’s latest EP, Continued Silence, which hit No. 6 on Soundscan’s Alternative New Artist Albums chart (on iTunes). And it’s good – especially if, like me, you have a soft spot for a kick ass mandolin. Seriously. Take a listen below!
Imagine Dragons’ lead singer Dan Reynolds says of the video, which was shot on a dry lake bed in Barstow, CA, “Any time I hear music, I also see visuals in my mind. ‘It’s Time’ is an emotional song that was written at a very transitional period of my life. I’ve always loved conceptual videos that leave room for the viewer room to interpret it in a way that is most personal to them. That is what we tried to do with this video. The director had a great vision for representing the song’s meaning in a subtle way. We wanted the video to be cinematic and true to the song.”
The band is currently out on the road with The Jezabels throughout April and May, with a number of sold-out shows throughout the country. Don’t miss Imagine Dragons on the road when they come to a city near you!

With influences ranging from Frank Zappa and John Coltrane to Bob Marley and G Love, Burgess describes his mixtape as “swampy, southern, soulful, shagadelic, good music. It’s just like Mom’s home cooking.” And, with that in mind, take a listen to his single, “Party Like A Pornstar”- which recently premiered on Maxim- below!
The young singer got his start playing 6th Street clubs in Austin, and was later hooked up with the Jonas Brothers who recorded his song “Chillin’ in the Summertime.”
Since then, Burgess has moved to Los Angeles where he currently is working with Grammy nominated producer Kevin Kadish (Jason Mraz, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Hicks) and Mark Batson (Jay-Z, Eminem, 50 Cent). “Every day I’m re-inventing the way I write songs,” he says. “As long as I can survive and get by and play music for a living, I’ll be alright.”
Check out Ben Burgess on Facebook and Twitter, and HERE at his official website. “Party Like A Pornstar” appears on his recently released mixtape, which is available for a free download on his website- so go there now! Enjoy!
Cherri Bomb, who recently unveiled the first entry of an intimate video series- “Teenage Rock Diaries,” have just released the send installment, which focuses on drummer Nia. In the clip, the young rocker dishes about having fun on tour and what it’s like being the drummer of the band.
“No matter how I seem on the outside with my mania and my insanity, being the drummer I am the heartbeat of the band,” says Nia, “and I will always put that first.”
The clip also features an appearance by members of acclaimed metal act Coal Chamber. The band recently collaborated with Buzznet for a series of performance videos, including the premiere of their original song, “Shake the Ground”, from the Avengers Assemble album, set for release May 1st.
Cherri Bomb’s debut album, This Is The End of Control, is due out May 15th via Hollywood Records.

Jay-Z and Kanye West definitely get cray in their new video for their hit song, “Ni**as in Paris.” The video is actually a live performance from Jay and ‘Ye’s last stop on their Watch the Throne Tour at the Staples Center in L.A. With a energized audience, flashing lights, and crazy audio and video effects, the visual will definitely “get the people going,” as Will Ferrell says in the dialogue portion of the song. The sample was taken from Ferrell’s ice-skating comedy Blades of Glory, co-starring Jon Heder. “No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative!” That’s the line that everybody shouts out the loudest at the club! I was expecting an actual video to be shot in Paris.I guess that was out since Papa Jay is still doing performances, and taking care of Baby Blue and wifey Beyoncé (she looks AMAZING for having just delivered a baby a month ago!). Either way, I’m hyped up over this video!
Drake has officially released the official video for his song “Practice,” featured on his sophomore album, Take Care. The song samples Juvenile’s “Back That Thang Up.” For the visual, Drake recruits curvaceous model (Drake loves women with a nice derriere) , Kyra Chaos, to “back that thang up” in front of her mirror. And that, ladies and gents, is the entire video. This girl dancing in front of the mirror. Can we say disappointment?! But don’t let my opinion turn you off. Check out the video below!
There is absolutely nothing that irks me more than when a hot song is accompanied by a terrible video. And that’s what this was. Drake doesn’t even show up until the end of the video, and that was about 2 seconds. Mr. Graham, I KNOW that Lil Wayne keeps you paid over there with Young Money, and you yourself are a pretty creative artist. So with money and creativity on your side, a girl in front of the mirror was the best you could come up with?! Plus she was offbeat anyway.
For any girls that think they can dance better than this to “Practice,” which I’m sure is half the nation, Drake is calling you to prove it! Send your moves to October’s Very Own!
Who run the world?! High School Musical alum Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale went to North Hollywood’s Millennium Dance Complex Thursday for a fun dance time and shared the video of them rocking out to Beyonce‘s “Run the World (Girls) with fans.
“Dance class with @slaughteration and Nessa #whoruntheworld,” Ashley tweeted before going into the studio with bestie Vanessa and choreographer Jeri Slaughter.
According to Us Weekly, Vanessa — who stars in the upcoming Journey 2 — credits dance with helping keep her in shape while she filmed the movie in Hawaii.
“I’m a very physical person. I love working out so [on set] it was just a matter of keeping my stamina up and I just made sure my cardio was in good shape,” Hudgens told Us Weekly at the movie’s premiere in L.A. this past Thursday. “I love, love, love working out. Anything from dancing — which me and my best friend Ashley did today — to kickboxing. I love it!” “I love dancing. I own it and I think as long as you own what you’re doing, it’s fun to show the world. Why not?” she told Us. Check out the video below!
As a Beyonce stan, I’m usually skeptical of other people singing, dancing, or even humming along to any one of her songs. But I have to admit, these ladies did a very good job! Burning calories and having fun!
Trae Tha Truth has released the official music video for his track “I’m On” featuring an all star cast. I’ve gotta say this is one of the best rap songs introduced to the game in a long time and the video is even hotter. Big props to Trae snagging up Wiz Khalifa, Wale, Lupe Fiasco, Big Boi and MDMA and Philly Fly Boy (who directed the vid).
And in case you are thinking the beat sounds a tad familiar, it is. The sample used in the chorus is from Mark Morrison’s “Return of The Mack” (his hit single from 1996).
