A Look Back At Brad Pitt’s Best Performances

As Brad Pitt’s new film, The Tree Of Life, opens up in selected cities (got my ticket for June 17) it’s time to take a look back at his amazing career.

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 20 years since America and the world first got a good look at Brad Pitt. In 1991’s Thelma & Louise, Pitt stole the movie in a very brief role. Since then, he has had to battle that old belief that “pretty boys” can’t act.

Here are my favorite performance of, IMHO, one of Hollywood’s most underrated actors.

Pitt’s 3rd film with director David Fincher, is an absolute masterpiece. He does a phenomenal job of making Benjamin Button likable as well as curious about his amazing life. Pitt was nominated for an Oscar.

Another Fincher film, another masterpiece. Not only is Fight Club a great film, Pitt’s Tyler Durden is one of the most fascinating moive characters in history. “All the ways you wish you could be, that’s me. I look like you wanna look, I f*ck like you wanna f*ck, I am smart, capable, and most importantly, I am free in all the ways that you are not. “

Another Fincher film. Starting to get a hint? This 1995 film has always stayed with me. Brilliant, scary and with one the greatest endings ever! Pitt’s Detective Mills has so many ups and downs during this film.

Huntin’ Nazzzzi’s. That’s the way Pitt’ Southern, Nazi-hunting Lt. Aldo Raine says it and does it in this wild Tarantino film. I can’t think of anyone else who could have played this part with charm, humor and chilling determination.
