Christian Bale could be on board for “Noah”.
Darren Aronofsky’s mad plan to shoot a $130 million big screen epic retelling of the biblical story of Noah has taken a big step forward with word that Christian Bale is in talks to play the man who built the ark.
New York Magazine’s Vulture reports that Aronofsky is trying to get the Dark Knight on board even though the money to make the picture doesn’t exist just yet. Vulture suggests that the Wrestler and Black Swan director hopes that once Bale is attached one of Hollywood’s big studios will agree to pony up the dough.
Currently set up at the Fox-based mini-studio New Regency, Aronofsky knows that to make the movie happen, another studio will need to kick in some of the cash. Paramount, Summit and Fox are all said to be interested – and could be a lot more interested if Bale commits to the project.
Bale is currently shooting his third Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. That picture has a projected budget of $250 million.
