Angelina Jolie, Vanity Fair interview July 2010
If you think life is grand when you’re Angelina Jolie, well, you’re right!
Angelina recently took time off from her new movie, The Tourist, to speak with Vanity Fair. Jolie opens up about life with her adorable kids and handsome husband, even addressing a few of those pesky rumors.
“No, I’m not pregnant. . . We’re not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time. They’re kids now, and can play together, but they’re going to need a lot more talking in the middle of the night, like I did with my mom for hours. We want to make sure we don’t build a family so big that we don’t have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well.”
I know, you were probably hoping she’d give birth to a few more gorgeous bebes. Can I just take time here and say that I like it when I read an interview and I don’t think, “Oh, hello, turns out you’re kinda crazy and I didn’t realize it until you started talking.. maybe you should stop doing that.” I’m looking at you Tom Cruise.
Jolie goes on to talk about her little ones, describing Maddox (Mad) as an intellectual and Zahara as eloquent and well spoken. As for Shiloh, she’s goofy, playful, and quite the performer- and according to Jolie, much like herself when she was younger….
“Shiloh, we feel has Montenegro style. It’s how people dress there. She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits. So it’s a suit with a tie and a jacket and slacks, or a tracksuit. She likes to dress like a boy. She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.”
As for Knox and Vivienne, Jolie says they are classic boy and girl, with Knox being very much the little “dude” and Vivienne being “feminine.”
When asked of Brad‘s goatee, she says she “loves him in any state.” (I can’t say I’d argue with that one.) On the subject of marriage, well, it’s just a formality. As far as the two of them are concerned they already are married and with children, they are committed for life in a much larger way.
Oh, and don’t expect a Mr. and Mrs. Smith sequel anytime soon- Jolie says it’s been discussed but ideas just haven’t been that interesting. That’s not to say she is opposed to working with Brad again, just don’t expect to see them as love interests. Her suggestion? Maybe they play “bad guys that try to kill each other.” Of course, she also addresses the who will keep the kids issue if they’re both working at the same time. Good point.
The full interview will be in the July issue of Vanity Fair, on newsstands Wednesday.
I’ll admit, I’m usually most interested in accompanying photo shoots, especially when the subject is Angelina Jolie, but the parts of the article that have been released thus far just make me want to read more. and more. and more.
