Sad news for Amanda Holden and her family. It was just on Tuesday on February 1st, 2011 that the Britain’s Got Talent judge noticed that her unborn baby was not moving.
After being rushed to West Middlesex Hospital, doctors tried their damnedest, but the baby was stillborn.
Spokesperson Alison Griffin released the following statement on behalf of Amanda and her husband Chris Hughes saying, “They are utterly devastated. Amanda had been closely monitored throughout her pregnancy and it is not yet known what went wrong. Both Chris and Amanda would like to thank the midwives and staff at The Queen Mary Maternity unit at West Middlesex Hospital Isleworth for their tremendous support.”
It was just last month that Holden announced her pregnancy, despite being seven months along. The reason for the late announcement was due to a prior miscarriage. After losing a baby due to miscarriage just last year, Holden had deemed herself an “absolute mess”. She explained, “I have such a charmed and lovely life and I just never imagined I would miscarry a baby. Never. You never think it might happen to you. Something went wrong. I certainly wasn’t expecting anything to but sometimes Mother Nature lets you down. I was an absolute mess. Poor Chris was too but he was amazing.”
So tragic. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Holden and her family during this difficult time. I can’t even imagine the heartbreak.
