2013 Oscars: The Winners and Best Dressed

For Hollywood’s biggest night, it’s not always worth noting who won, but who wore it best. This year’s best dressed tricks?

Enter Chastain.

Enter Washington.

Enter couture.

Chastain and Washington finally lived up to their potential last night, entering the best dressed lists of many forums. Both had disastrous turns at other events this awards season and who knew when they would right their train of visual f*ckery? Well, in the last night of the season, they both did, with a little help from Prive for Chastain, and Miu Miu for Washington. Another standout was ‘Star Trek’ actress Zoe Saldana, who stood out in an Alexis Mabille couture gown. Also worth noting were Jennifer Hudson in a long-sleeved metallic Cavalli creation, and emerging star Samantha Banks, swathed in a plunging black Valentino dress.

Oh! And the winner, if you care, are below…

Best Picture Argo

Best Director Ang Lee, Life of Pi

Best Actor Daniel Day-Lewis, ‘Lincoln’

Best Actress Jennifer Lawrence, ‘Silver Linings Playbook’

Best Supporting Actor Christopher Waltz, ‘Django Unchained’

Best Supporting Actress Anne Hathaway, ‘Les Miserables’

2011 MTV EMA’s winners list

It was predicted that Lady Gaga would rule the 2011 MTV EMA’s with numerous wins and well, whoever did that prediction was pretty much spot on. I will say though that there were a few surprises including Justin Bieber beating out Kanye West, Eminem, David Guetta and Bruno Mars for Best Male Artist. Not too shabby!

Check out the full list of winners from the evening below.

Cody Simpson dominates 2011 Australian Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards (PHOTOS)

[nggallery id=15]

Not even the Biebs could dominate this awards show.

Now normally I wouldn’t cover something as juvenile as the 2011 Australian Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, but got damn, you guys can thank Cody Simpson for that. Can I just say that this kid went from severely homely looking to a hardcore cutie patootie? Those awkward pubescent tween years can mess a kid up, but Mr. Simpson is aging nicely.

We’ve got the complete list of winners from the Down Under awards and a slew of photos, including a ton of photos for you Cody Simpson fanatics. Yes, you are welcome.

Project Runway’s Finale Show at Fashion Week Leaves Us Yawning

Make it work people! Project Runway filmed its finale show at New York’s Spring 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Friday — and in order to avoid spoiling the rest of the season, all nine designers who are still in the running in TV time got to show their lines. Looks like fashion and costume designer L’Wren Scott will join Nina Garcia, stinkface-y Michael Kors, and Heidi Klum on the judging panel for the season 9 finale. (In my opinion, a much better option than last season’s sit-in, Jessica Simpson).

Every once in a while, a Project Runway designer comes along, like Jay McCarroll or Mondo Guerra, who shows a final collection which makes such a statement, that years later we still talk about its impact. The buzz around these collections is that none of them will fit that bill. Word is, the show was kind of a yawn and the collections didn’t seem all that professional. According to Racked, a “well respected designer” from Season Two told a friend, “Off the record, it was like I was watching a Pratt show—and not even a graduation show.” Umm, ouch…

Spoiler Alert! You can check out all of the collections after the jump and decide for yourself!
