Bobbi Kristina Slams Angela Bassett Over Whitney Houston Biopic

Lifetime is filming the upcoming biopic about Whitney Houston, but her daughter Bobbi Kristina is NOT feeling it! Whitney’s daughter tweeted her anger about the project, slamming Angela Bassett, who will serve as director, in the process!

Angela gave an interview recently about the film to Entertainment Weekly, discussing why she didn’t cast Bobbi in the role. “I did not think about casting her. And probably for a number of reasons, you know. One being that she’s not an actress. I know she’s acted here and there. I know she’s been on their family’s reality show, but she’s not an actress and acting is a craft,” she explained. “It’s an attempt to illuminate the complexities of human behavior and life. And this is a very fast-paced schedule; we have just 21 days to tell this story. It’s more than just saying lines and turning the light on. You have to drive the story—there’s a technical aspect.”

Well, of course, Bobbi didn’t take that lying down! The 21-year-old tweeted, “Ha MsAng “bassketcase” has such a damn nerve my lord, at least the world doesn’t mistake me for the wrong sex…she has some #XtraEquipment.” She alos added, “When I win my first Grammy or Oscar, *Shrugs* hmm whichever comes 1st, I’ll be sure 2shout URname out b-tch! Hah UrTestResults = Male. Lmao.”

It was announced earlier in the month thatformer America’s Next Top Model contestant Yaya DeCosta would play Whitney. Unlike Bobbi, Yaya has real acting experience, working as a child actor, and also appearing on All My Children as well as Ugly Betty. The model has also been in hit films such as Lee Daniels’ The Butler and Tron: Legacy.

Bobbi Kristina is coming off really, REALLY bitter. Yes, I understand that your mother wanted you to play her, but baby girl, you have relatively NO acting experience! I’ve seen you in a few episodes of Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married, and that’s it. That small little role hardly warrants you starring in a movie, even if it is in the role of your mother. If you’re really serious about acting, take some classes, build up your experience, and maybe you can make it. I’m mad she tried going in on Angela Bassett like that!

The Brady Bunch’s Ann B. Davis Dead at 88

Sad news! Ann B. Davis, best known for her role as witty housekeeper Alice Nelson on the hit sitcom, The Brady Bunch, has died at the age of 88.

A close friend of the actress, Bishop William Frey, said that she died at a hospital in San Antonio, Texas, where she was treated after hitting her head in a fall. After suffering  a subdural hematoma, he said, she never regained consciousness.

Actress Florence Henderson, who played mom Carol Brady on the show, was sad to hear of her former co-star’s death. “I am so shocked and sad to learn that my dear friend and colleague, Ann B Davis, died today,” she said in a Facebook post. “I spoke with her a couple of months ago and she was doing great!”

Back in 2004, in speaking with the Archive of American Television, Davis described how she created the famous character. “I made up a background story. I did have a twin sister, so I used that as a basis. I cared very much about this family. It was my family. It was as close to my family as Alice would ever get. I would have died for any single one of them at any point,” she said. “You know, they wrote me such gorgeous things to do, as the intermediary between the kids and the adults, and between the boys and the girls. And they gave me funny things to do.” The role earned her two Emmys, as well as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Though her character was great with kids and housework, Davis admitted in an interview with People magazine in 1992 that she was not like her character much at all. “I basically don’t do that well with children, although my sister says I’m a great aunt,” she said, also stating that she hated to cook. “When it’s my turn in the house,” she told the magazine, “we just eat out.”

So sad to hear of her passing! She was definitely an iconic actress whose legacy will live on.  Thoughts go out to her family and friends.

Keke Palmer Set To Host Daily TV Show

Keke Palmer is making serious moves in the industry! The actress, in connection with BET and Telepictures, will host her own TV show geared towards young adults this summer!

The series, tentatively called The Keke Palmer Project, was picked up for an initial four-week run, and will premiere in July, airing Mondays-Fridays. Judge Greg Mathis, whose own show Judge Mathis is produced by Telepictures, will be executive producer over the project, after being heavily involved in bringing this deal together.

The show will cover various topics, including fashion, pop culture, social issues, celebrity interviews, and more. The idea for the show, Keke acknowledged, stems from her interaction on social media with her fans. “I like to read quotes that touch on how I am feeling,” she said. “If I am dealing with confusion, I will read quotes about clarity and peace of mind. I started posting these quotes on my Twitter page, and the fans responded so positively! I realized that many of them were dealing with similar issues, and the quotes helped to open up a genuine dialogue between us.”

When the show airs, Keke will become the youngest talk show host in TV history (currently, it’s Ricki Lake, who was 25 when she started her talk show).

Congrats to Keke! It’s very well deserved, and I’m definitely excited for it. Keke is a very positive and talented celeb, and I’m ready to see what she’s come up with for this show!

Oprah Tells Lindsay Lohan to “Cut the Bull” In Reality Show Extended Promo

Oprah got Lindsay Lohan TOGETHER in the extended promo of Lindsay’s upcoming reality show, Lindsay, on OWN!

The clip gives an inside look into how difficult the actress was while filming her life after her stint in rehab.

“So we were supposed to start shooting at 12:30 and Lindsay is locked out of her apartment. Which means we might not start shooting for a couple of hours,” director Amy Rice says with a sigh after a number of Lindsay’s tearful scenes from the first trailer are shown. She then jumps on her cell phone and says, “She’s not letting us into her apartment.”

Oprah soon comes in to settle the fuss. “My truth is that I really do want you to win. I really do,” the talk-show host says. “If that isn’t what you want, I’m OK with that, you know, I will tell these guys to pack up and leave.”

“No, it’s not that I’m not ready to do that, I do want to,” Lindsay replies before Oprah lets her know upfront: “You need to cut the bulls–t then, you really do.”

Check out the extended sneak peek below!

Lindsay premieres on Sunday, March 9, at 10 p.m. on OWN. I will definitely be watching! I’m rooting for Lindsay, though I’m not exactly sure how a reality show is going to help her better her life. I hope she stays on the right track, though!

The Arsenio Hall Show Renewed for a Second Season

Arsenio Hall got a really nice surprise on the set of The Arsenio Hall Show during Wednesday night’s episode! Turns out that CBS picked up a second season of his talk show…and Jay Leno came out to surprise him with the good news!

After sneaking up behind Arsenio, Jay told him and the audience  the news. Arsenio hugged him, saying “How come I don’t get my news first?!” Jay replied, “He’s more annoyed that I knew before he did!” Jay then joked, “Actually, in the second season, I’m going to be hosting. They didn’t tell you that part!”

Check out the surprise below!

“We are thrilled that Arsenio will be returning for a second season,” Joe DiSalvo, president of sales at CBS Television Distribution said in a statement. “We knew Arsenio had a built-in fan base, but he’s also reaching a new generation. This season, Arsenio has been the youngest late-night talk show on broadcast television and has given our station partners a real alternative for their late-night lineups.”

Arsenio also said in a statement, “Since 9/9/13, I’ve been waking up without an alarm clock. Producing and hosting my late-night talk show brings me great joy. I’m back where I belong! Thanks to my partners at CBS Television Distribution and Tribune.”

I’m really happy for Arsenio! Averaging 6.7 million views a week, the show has been doing very well, and has had a slew of great artists and other celebs come on. Arsenio’s naturally a good host, so it’ll be great to see another season. Hopefully there’s many more to come!

The Dating Game’s Jim Lange Dead at 81

Jim Lange, the first host of The Dating Game, has died.  The host, who passed away on Tuesday February 25, was 81.

Jim’s wife, Nancy Fleming, confirmed the news to the Associated Press on Wednesday that he died after suffering a heart attack at his home in Mill Valley, Calif.

Jim had a great career as a game host! After hosting The Dating Game for over a decade, he hosted other game shows including Hollywood Connection$100,000 Name That Tune, and The New Newlywed Game.

Even after his retirement from broadcast, the host went on to work as a radio DJ in L.A. and the San Francisco Bay Area as host of The Lange Gang on KABL. “As much as he’s known for his television work, his real love was radio,” his wife said. “He loved doing local radio, especially before it was computerized.”

Jim is survived by his wife, sister, five children, two stepchildren, and four grandchildren.

Sad that we have lost another legendary figure in the entertainment industry! Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

American Horror Story Renewed for Fourth Season

Great news for all AHS fans, American Horror Story has been renewed for a fourth season by FX!

And, to add an extra dash of happy, Jessica Lange is set to return as well. Namely due to the fact that her contract with the show goes through 2014. I’ll just remain willfully ignorant of the fact that Lange has all but said she won’t be returning once her contract expires. I prefer to stay in happy-land.

The news that the series has been renewed isn’t all that surprising, especially considering the show’s ratings- this season in particular. As it stands, Ryan Murphy’s AHS is on its way to becoming FX’s highest rated series ever among the coveted demographic of adults 18-34. AHS Coven has surpassed previous season ratings in each episode so far, with episode 5 airing tonight, with total viewers up 77% this season.

Of the renewal, CEO of FX Networks John Landgraf says, “Every year they create a riveting and brilliant new miniseries. American Horror Story Coven is the best yet and I have no doubt that the next installment will be even better.”

AHS Coven airs Wednesdays on FX at 10pm EST.

Reboot of Popular 90s Series Boy Meets World Picked Up

1371489616_girl-meets-world-article

It’s official! The heavily awaited series Girl Meets World, reboot of the classic ’90s series Boy Meets World, has officially been picked up to series by Disney Channel! The network made the official announcement today.

“I am grateful to everyone at Disney Channel for the opportunity to reach my favorite audience, which has always been kids,” creator Michael Jacobs said in as statement. “Girl Meets Worldis a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular.”

The show’s main plot centers on one of my favorite TV couples Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) as parents to a young girl named Riley (Rowan Blanchard). Cory is a history teacher at Riley’s middle school, and Topanga owns a afterschool spot that specializes in pudding. The show will begin production this summer in Los Angeles, with a planned 2014 premiere date on Disney Channel.

Set in New York City, Girl Meets World will “tell the wonderfully funny, heartfelt stories that Boy Meets World is renowned for, only this time from a tween girl’s perspective,” Disney Channel stated in a press release. Riley also has her very own Shawn (Rider Strong) in the form of her quick-witted best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter).

There’s rumors that old members of the gang may even make little cameos in the show! I’m definitely going to check it out…I miss Cory and Topanga!

Dana Wilkey calls Brandi Glanville a Slut!

In totally unsurprising news, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dana Wilkey had some choice words for her co-star Brandi Glanville when she told RadarOnline exclusively that “she’s a slut.”

As you know, Brandi is at the center of a sex scandal, with a show insider revealing that she was caught by her friends “having sex in the bathroom during Kyle Richards’ infamous White Party!”

And, in true Housewife fashion, when asked about this alleged indiscretion by Brandi, Dana let RadarOnline know just what she thought.

“She’s a slut, obviously.”

“I wasn’t in the bathroom with her while she was having sex, thank God, that sounds really gross.”

Yes, yes. gross. Totes gross.

But the slamming didn’t stop there. Dana’s boyfriend Philip Marley chimed in “Randy Brandi!” and Dana continued saying, “Sounds like her dates have taken a step up!”

“Slutty and stupid? Doesn’t that sum it up? Kind of fits the profile, right?”

Check out the video of Dana talking all about Brandi and her sluttiness HERE at RadarOnline.
