Last Saturday, P.O.S took the state as part of MPR’s ‘Muse for Music’, held at the historic Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, MN.
‘Muse for Music’ was a special commission from 89.3 The Current, which explored “the hidden creative origins and stories surrounding some of music’s most notable songs.” The event was hosted and curated by Jeremy Messersmith and included performances by Doomtree’s P.O.S, Chastity Brown, and storyteller Dave Mondy.

In early June, The Fitzgerald will showcase another Doomtree member, Sims, when he takes part in MPR’s ‘Works for Words’ hosted by Chris Koza. If you have been following Sinead O’Connor on Twitter for the past few months, you have been keeping up with a whole lot of cray cray. Heck with her music, nothing compares to the entertainment Sinead brings with her bi-polarized tweets. Unfortunately you can’t read the madness now because her account has been shut down. But listen. This isn’t just one of those time of the month spews from the mouth. Girlfriend has big issues…so big that she has been forced to scrap her upcoming tour dates.
In a tweet to fans late last week O’Connor wrote, “Am going home and cancelling touring for the year. Doc had asked me not to tour but I thought was stronger than am.”
If you were in complete denial thinking that Sinead would say something different tomorrow, her website has also been shut down and replaced with a fan site.
The site reads, “With enormous regret I must announce that I have to cancel all touring for the year as am very unwell due to bi polar disorder. As you all know I had a very serious breakdown between December and March and I had been advised by my doctor not to go on tour but didn’t want to ‘fail’ or let anyone down as the tour was already booked to coincide with album release. So very stupidly I ignored his advice to my great detriment, attempting to be stronger than I actually am.”
Come on. This girl was cray BEFORE Britney was. Sinead was the originator of the head shave and she’s been living the careless life for years now. She just hasn’t made it to the hot pink wig stage yet. Here’s hoping she can skip that stage and get herself some help.
One of the most successful independent rock bands, Dispatch, announced they’ll release their first album in twelve years- Circles Around The Sun- on August 21st via their own Bomber Records.

Get ready Green Day fans, because the band is currently working hard in the studio, recording not one, not two, but THREE(!) different albums- a trilogy. A rock trilogy you say? Hell to the Yes.
The three new albums, entitled , ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!, will be released by Reprise Records on Tuesday, September 25th 2012; Tuesday, November 13th 2012 and Tuesday, January 15th 2013. The albums are the follow-up to the Grammy Award-winning 21st Century Breakdown, and are being produced by the band’s long-time producer Rob Cavallo, and are being recorded in the band’s hometown of Oakland, CA.
“We are at the most prolific and creative time in our lives. This is the best music we’ve ever written, and the songs just keep coming,” said the band. “Instead of making one album, we are making a three album trilogy. Every song has the power and energy that represents Green Day on all emotional levels. We just can’t help ourselves… We are going epic as fuck!”
“Epic as fuck”- I look forward to it!
Green Day is set to play several music festivals this summer, with confirmed dates listed below (and more to be added.)
