Celebrity Gossip Heard All Over The Web

TLC Cancels “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”

It was announced today that TLC has canceled popular show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo after reports swirled of star “Mama June” Shannon dating a registered sex offender.

TMZ first reported that June was allegedly seeing Mark McDaniel, who was convicted in 2004 of aggravated child molestation of an 8 year old. Several members of Mama June’s family denied the claim, saying that the two had not dated in 10 years and June’s focus was the kids right now. However, the executives at TLC were clearly not having it, officially cancelling the show.

TLC released this statement to Entertainment Weekly: “TLC has canceled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately. Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority.TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”

The show has been on for two years, and has averaged 1.5 million viewers, ranking No. 1 on Thursdays among women 18-34 watching basic cable.

I can’t say whether or not this rumor about Mama June is true, though I hope it’s not. However, the higher ups at TLC are honestly just looking out for the network. Being a part of this kind of controversy, especially when it involves kids and they are producing a show with kids, is not a good look. I’m not surprised by the outcome. It just sucks for the family because this was definitely their bread and butter, and they lost it on a rumor.

Mama June Is Walking Down That Aisle!!

All those men that have been secretly wanting to get their romance on with June ‘Mama June’ Shannon now have to hang up their dreams and move on to the next hot girl in the trailer park. This one is now going to be officially spoken for!!

Mama June, who has been shacking up with Sugar Bear for nearly a decade, is finally getting that piece of paper! Her man, Sugar Bear (real name Mike Thompson) found love via the internet and have been shacked up ever since. Their child, the world-famous Boo Boo Thompson, has brought them into prominence as well, and now that they are rolling in the deep cash, they will spare no expense for this wedding. Expect the nuptials to be aired on TLC and according to reports, the guests have been to wear redneck fashion.

Why didn’t Britney Spears think of this?!!

Honey Boo Boo Rakes In The Dough

8b1922cffaea53483b50e5da791dd246And it looks like all that talk about rednecks being stupid with their money is just that.

Talk.

Because America’s most famous redneck family is ensuring that their family may not get a G.E.D., high school diploma, or take a single course from DeVry, but once they reach maturity, they will be able to afford the best trailers John Deere produces and the best double wide trailers in their swamp community!

Mama June, the mother to Honey Boo Boo, has recently announced that she has set aside all the money from her daughter’s cut from their hit show into a trust fund that they get access to once they turn 21. In fact, she never even touches the money, as she has TLC deposit directly into their savings accounts. Now, this is a mama I like. I guess Mama June saw one too many ‘Behind the Music’ episodes. Or maybe she watched ‘Diff’rent Strokes’ one too many times?

The only thing Mama June has bought is a used car: a 2005 Ford Expedition. Now that’s classy! My hat now goes off to this mama. She’s looking hotter and hotter every day! If only she could teach these other reality star tricks and hip hop heads how to handle their money!

Natina Reed Is Dead

Natina Reed, a member of the R&B group Blaque, has died in a car accident near Atlanta. She was only 32. She would have been 33 on Sunday.

According to reports, the police answered a call by a driver who called for assistance after the accident. Paramedics rushed to the scene, but Reed was pronounced dead less than half an hour later. A press release was issued by the Gwinnett Police Department, where the accident occurred, which is just outside of Atlanta, Georgia.

“The driver of the vehicle contacted 911 to request assistance,” the press release states. “Natina Reed was pronounced dead at Gwinnett Medical Center at 10:59 p.m. E.S.T. Preliminary information indicates that Reed was in the roadway on Lawrenceville Highway near Hamilton Road when struck,” the release continues. Though the investigation is ongoing, the release states that the driver “was determined to be not at fault and there are no charges pending.”
The other two members of the trio Blaque, Brandi Williams and Shamari Fears-DeVoe issued a statement together:
“We are devastated by the loss of our group member, sister and friend Natina Reed. Because of the enormous support of Blaque fans and our love for each another, Blaque officially reunited this fall and we were in the process of working on a new album and a reality show. Natina continuously embodied the pioneering spirit of Blaque and her undeniable creativity touched the hearts of fans everywhere. Natina was a mother, sister, accomplished songwriter, artist and friend. We ask for your prayers at this time for Natina’s family. She will forever be missed and her global influence eternally felt. We thank God for the experiences we shared.”

Although Reed was known as the rapper in Blaque (and the protege of Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes), she was an actress as well, appearing in Bring It On alongside Gabrielle Union and Kirsten Dunst. She was discovered by Left Eye of TLC, who developed a band around her, which was structured similarly to her group. Lopes herself died ten years ago from a car accident in 2002.

She is survived by a ten-year old son.

Our condolences go out to her family at this time.

The Return of TLC!

Remember when girl groups were worth following around on and off the stage? Remember when there were so many good girl groups that you lost track of them and got them all confused? Remember when TLC was the biggest female group in the world? Remember where you were when Left Eye died and you thought their days were over?

Well, they were…until now!

After almost a decade away from the serious limelight, the time could be ripe for a TLC comeback. And ironically, it is on the network with the same initials as the Grammy-winning group.

TLC announced that it has ordered four episodes of a new show featuring Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins that will follow the singer as she attempts to revive her career in L.A. The show is expected to debut in early 2013. Hopefully, the show can invigorate her fan base and lead to a return to big things for the singer, who briefly appeared on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice in 2009 before getting the boot.

And in one of the most heavily anticipated upcoming tours, TLC announced that they plan to start one next year with a hologram of the late Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, similar to what was orchestrated with Tupac earlier this year.

Kate Gosselin is out of a job.

TLC cancels Kate Plus 8

Welp, Kate Gosselin may have to go back to nursing, the job she worked before she became famous on behalf of her eight little goslings. Or either that, she’s going to have to drop getting her hair extensions fixed every month. DOH!

Check out what TLC has to say about canceling Kate Plus 8. I have a feeling Kate wanted more money and the ratings tanked.
