Tina Fey Sets Record Straight On “Mean Girls” Movie

Lindsay-Lohan-Tina-Fey-Main

“Extra” caught up with Tina Fey at the L.A. premiere of her new film, “Muppets Most Wanted,” where she set the record straight on rumors of a follow-up “Mean Girls” movie.

Fey, who wrote the original movie, said, “We’re coming up next month on the 10-year anniversary of the original movie… I can’t believe it either. We’re going to see if there’s any way to get everyone together, but not a movie, sadly. We’re all past high school age.”

In other words, they are NOT going to make Mean Girls happen and for me, that is totally okay. Lindsay probably thinks otherwise, but sometimes you just need to leave the classics alone!

Along with Fey, “Mean Girls” starred Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert and was directed by Mark Waters.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Hosting Golden Globes For Two More Years

Comedy will continue to shine at the Golden Globes for the next two years! Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have  signed on with NBC and Dick Clark Prods. to host the award show in 2014 and 2015.

It was expected that the duo would make their way back to the show as hosts after their success at this year’s Globes. The telecast ratings spiked 28% in the key 18-49 demo, exactly the audience NBC wants!

“Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season,” said Paul Telegdy, NBC’s prexy of alternative and latenight programming.  “We’re elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years.”

Definitely good news! I love them together and they definitely brought a great energy that the show needed.

The 71st annual Golden Globes air live from the Beverly Hilton on Jan. 12. Will you be watching? Are you happy that Tina and Amy are back to host?

Tina Fey (Date Night, 30 Rock) and Paul Rudd (I Love You Man, Knocked Up) star in Admission, the new film directed by Academy Award nominee Paul Weitz (About a Boy), about the surprising detours we encounter on the road to happiness. Straight-laced Princeton University admissions officer Portia Nathan (Fey) is caught off-guard when she makes a recruiting visit to an alternative high school overseen by her former college classmate, the free-wheeling John Pressman (Rudd). Pressman has surmised that Jeremiah (Nat Wolff), his gifted yet very unconventional student, might well be the son that Portia secretly gave up for adoption many years ago. Soon, Portia finds herself bending the rules for Jeremiah, putting at risk the life she thought she always wanted — but in the process finding her way to a surprising and exhilarating life and romance she never dreamed of having.

Tina Fey Really Needs To Just Let It Go

Lindsay-Lohan-Tina-Fey-Main

Go as in Lindsay Lohan and the near decade that has gone by since La Strawberry Snortcake was young(er), youthful, fresh, and relevant. Because fast forward to now and that ginge has come unhinged. Tina Fey, who worked and has worked with the (alleged) actress several times, still keeps reminisicing about days that no one else can even remember. We’re too busy trying to figure out when Hohan’s next court date is. Our guess is?

Probably tomorrow!

Now, in an interview with Ladies’ Home Journal’s April issue, the Admission star says “beautiful, healthy Lindsay Lohan is the first thing that comes to mind when she thinks back on the beloved flick. A word of advice, Tina: delete, discard, deny! Once you start visiting her in jail in a few months, let’s see how you like those conjugal visits she’ll start trying to serve up to you? Did you forget that Lindsay is a part-time carpetmuncher? We almost did too!

30 Rock Coming to an End?

Or, at least, that’s what we might think if we were following Alec Baldwin on Twitter. Making news yet again, several news outlets caught wind of the tweet that stated, “I haven’t appeared on the Today Show in many years, but did they have to camp outside my apt?” Quickly followed by, “I think I’m leaving NBC just in time.”

In response to his tweet, Tina Fey confirms that, indeed, the end is near. Err, I mean, for 30 Rock. Fey announces that she will definitely be going down with the ship on this one, telling the View, “As far as I know, he’s not leaving the show. We’re all in this together ’til the end.”

And then the conversation continues as Baldwin attempts to pull that foot promptly shoved into his mouth that he seems to love the taste of, by saying, “As far as I know 30 Rock is back next year. But all things must pass. New shows. New People.”

Quick interjection, people: Yup, I’m sure we’re all aware of the cycle of life. We all saw Lion King. But how many of us announce “the end” when it is still eons away, supposedly?

He then shifts the blame and focus onto Tina Fey (well played, Baldwin Boy, well played) by prompting his audience to consider all the wonderful things Tina will after 30 Rock. “People need new things creatively…sometimes, they need to do nothing at all.”

In the mean time, while Alec Baldwin inches a bit closer to the unemployment line, he may be considering a career in politics as hinted with his interview with Bloomberg Television. Future Mayor of New York City? Could be. For now, the show surges on.
