Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Joe and Teresa Giudice Sentenced to Jail for Fraud

It’s official…both Joe and Teresa Giudice are headed to prison. The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars have both been sentenced to jail for bankruptcy, bank, and mortgage fraud charges!

The couple did plead guilty to the charges, and were apologetic for their actions. However, Judge Esther Salas laid down the law, giving them both jail time. The U.S. District Court Judge ruled that Joe would serve 41 months (a little over three years) in prison, have two years of supervised probation, and have to pay $414,588 in restitution while Teresa was given 15 months behind bars. Because she has the lesser time, Teresa will serve her sentence first, and is required to surrender to authorities on January 5, 2015. That way, either Joe or Teresa will be around to take care of their four children. However, it is possible that Joe will be deported back to his home country Italy.

According to Deadline, Joe and Teresa will appear on a special Watch What Happens Live: One-on-One with Teresa and Joe with Andy Cohen on Bravo on October 6 at 9 PM to discuss their sentencing.

I can’t say I feel bad for them that much. You do the crime, you have to do the time. However, I feel bad for their kids having to see their parents go through all this, knowing that they will both be going to prison. Hopefully, Joe and Teresa have both learned from this, and will come out stronger and smarter people.

CELEB SPOTTING: Teresa Giudice and Husband Joe Look Happy And In Love Despite Fraud Allegations

It seems as if Teresa and Joe Giudice are out enjoying life despite their fun little fraud allegations.

This past weekend, Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe had a sexy date night at the Carlton hotel’s Broadway Diva Suite. Paying reverence to New York’s Golden Age of Broadway, the Broadway Diva Suite reimagines a palatial dressing room ideal for a leading lady in a hit musical — indulgent and accented by mirrors, playbills, and over-the-top bedding.

The Italian duo toasted each other with glasses of red wine, before enjoying dinner at the hotel’s French brasserie Millesime.

Fraud? What fraud?

Teresa Giudice Might Be a Little Guilty

Even though she is known as conniving and bitchy and petty, one thing Teresa Giudice is not…

is guilty!

The Real Housewives of New Jersey already has 41 criminal charges against er alongside her husband Joe Giudice and has now been slapped with two more to add to that count for bank fraud. Allegedly, she claimed to be a realtor for a bank loan all the way back in 2005.

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice says she’s NOT a dirty, scheming liar who falsely claimed to be a realtor in 2005 just to get a bank loan. Officials are contending that Teresa was not only not a realtor, but she was not even working outside of the house during the period.

Mail fraud.
Bank fraud.
Bankruptcy fraud.
Hair fraud.

These tricks are going D O W N!

Teresa Giudice’s Conspiracy Theory

teresa_guidice

If you’re a fan of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, you’re well versed in how much Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga hate one another. That hatred hit a new, new low on Sunday’s reunion special. So what’s the issue now? Let the accusations begin…

During the reunion, Teresa said, “They won’t publish anything bad about her [Melissa].”

Who is they? Why, RadarOnline, of course.

Yes, according to Teresa, Radar doesn’t put out any negative stories on Melissa in exchange for getting the scoop on Teresa. Y’all, it’s a conspiracy!

As you’d expect, Radar’s Editor in Chief Dylan Howard released a statement on Monday: “Melissa has never sold a story to RadarOnline.com. There is no contract, agreement or deal to provide sweetheart coverage about Melissa. It is a complete fabrication. Perhaps Teresa was given some wrong information, but we’re happy to set the record straight for Teresa, Melissa, the other Housewives and all the fans of New Jersey.”

If you’re keeping track, RadarOnline points out that this is not the first time a Housewife has accused another of selling the goods. Adrienne Maloof once accused Lisa Vanderpump of selling info for $25k.

Teresa & Joe facing 50 years in prison?

We knew Teresa Giudice and husband Joe were in a mess of trouble, but suddenly “mess” doesn’t seem like an accurate description. Today the couple was hit with a 39 count indictment. Let’s let that sink in…. 39 counts.

That’s not a “mess of trouble”, that’s a sh*t storm.

According to TMZ, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced the charges today, which range from tax evasion to bank fraud . The indictment claims that the couple committed multiple counts of bank and tax fraud from 2001-2008.

Specifically, that they overestimated their income in order to illegally obtain multiple mortgage loans from multiple banks, defrauding those banks of millions. It also alleges that the couple withheld information vital to their Chapter 7 filing in 2009, and that Joe had failed to file tax returns from 2004 to 2008.  Other charges include conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.

In total, the couple face over 50 years in prison, if convicted.

‘RHONJ’ Reality Star vs. The I.R.S.

jacqueline-laurita-real-housewives-new-jersey

And we already know who always wins when it comes to the man versus Uncle Sam!

Real Housewives of New Jersey‘ reality star Jacqueline Laurita is being chased by the I.R.S. It looks as if she is slightly behind on her taxes…to the tune of $340,000. Now, if she doesn’t find a way to come up with the dinero to placate the government, they’re coming after her properties next. If she needs any advice on how to proceed, she needn’t look far. Two of her co-stars on the reality show, Danielle Staub and Teresa Giudice, both are in the midst of their own bankruptcy squabbles at the moment.

So, if you are one of those people that watch the television series and wonder how they can afford to live in the lap of luxury, now you know that it is all smoke and mirrors and that these tricks are living off of credit and borrowed time. We cannot wait for the episode when these broads are crying as the I.R.S. carts off their unnecessary items. And how are they broke when Bravo is paying them six figures a year?

Someone…needs a better accountant!
