Katy Perry Promotes Upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Commercial

Katy Perry officially dropped a commercial for her upcoming Super Bowl halftime show during last night’s American Music Awards!

The commercial, also promotion for Pepsi, shows Katy “prepping” for her performance coming up with a bunch of goofy ideas like edible glitter, time machines, and way too many kittens!

Check out Katy’s commercial below!

I’m actually a little excited to see Katy perform! She has a lot of great hits that she can bring to the table. I’m sure she will bring a lot of energy, just hopefully not too much glitter or any kittens. We’ll see what she has up her sleeve in February!

Katy Perry Will Perform at the 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Football season is just getting started, but we already have our set performer for Super Bowl 2015! The NFL has chosen Katy Perry to perform at the halftime show of the championship game!

According to Billboard, the singer was picked after being a potential frontrunner along with Coldplay and Rihanna (though Rihanna probably wasn’t going to do it anyway after CBS cut “Run This Town” from the Thursday Night Football opening).

However, a few months ago the NFL asked the candidates if they would be willing “to contribute a portion of their post-Super Bowl tour income to the league, or if they would make some other type of financial contribution, in exchange for the halftime gig.” Katy herself said on ESPN’s College Game Day recently, “I’m not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl.” Guess she either changed her mind, or the NFL cut that idea!

I like Katy, and I think she is a great choice for a halftime performance. I use to think that artists with more longevity in the industry should only perform, but I think we’re running out of legendary folks who can put on good shows to draw in ratings. Katy definitely has brought the hits over her career so far, so I think she will be able to put on an amazing show. Congrats to her for this honor!

Stacy Keibler Tries To Avoid Ex At Super Bowl Bash

The night before the big game former NFL star and Live with Michael and Kelly Host Michael Strahan and FOX Sports personality Erin Andrews, hosted the VIP Third Annual Tequila Don Julio Sports & Entertainment dinner at the Audi Forum New Orleans. Andrews and Strahan were excited to come together with their close friends and family to trade opinions on the outcome of the Super Bowl, but the two were aligned on the 49ers as the expected victor.

Strahan also gave Andrews advice on how to mix up the perfect cocktail to enjoy for the Big Game, using his favorite spirit Tequila Don Julio 70 (cocktail included below). Andrews then said she needed to create her own signature “EA” cocktail to rival Strahan’s. Guests dined on a specialty three course dinner with Don Julio cocktail pairings and were relieved to take a moment from the busy weekend to enjoy an intimate, luxury gathering. Other guests in attendance at the dinner included Lil Jon, Gayle King, and Bill Simmons.

Following the dinner, the night progressed into the late night party at the Audi Forum where celebs partied late into the night where they enjoyed Tequila Don Julio bottle service and danced to Solange, Lil Jon and Diplo DJ sets.

Tidbits from the Audi Forum:

Sofia Vergara was chatting in the VIP and drinking Tequila Don Julio with friends.

Chase Crawford and Josh Hutcherson holding court in the VIP with friends, but Josh (very casually dressed in a trucker hat and jeans) ended up on the dance floor dancing to Lil Jon and Diplo.

Stacy Keibler was dancing in the VIP area, but noticeably was avoiding her ex Geoff Stults.

Lil Jon and Diplo was spotted drinking 1942 as they did a surprise duel DJ sets.

Ryan Kwanten was drinking and toasting with 1942 with his Dad, both of whom noted that it’s their favorite tequila.

Scott Porter was the very last to leave the event since he was too busy singing and dancing with a friend, and the staff had to politely let him know the show was over.

Other celebrities in attendance included: Aaron Rogers, Aaron Paul, Jeremy Renner, Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Kate Walsh, Ana Faris and Ashley Greene.

REPORT: Beyoncé Performing at Super Bowl 2013!

According to the Associated Press, Beyoncé will headline the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2013! The official announcement about the show is supposed to come Wednesday.

Superbowl XLVII will take place on  Feb. 3, 2013, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, the first in that city since 2002, and the first since Hurricane Katrina’s major destruction of the city in 2005.

Bey is no newbie to the Super Bowl, having sung the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004 in her hometown Houston when the New England Patriots defeated the Carolina Panthers.

Am I excited to see a full half-time show of Miss Beyoncé Knowles?! You damn skippy! She is electrifying on stage, and I know that she is going to kill it in New Orleans! Maybe just maybe she’ll bring out hubby Jay-Z, or even old Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams! Too excited!

Kelly Clarkson Admits She Cheated With Teleprompter During National Anthem

When Kelly Clarkson performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, girlfriend nailed every single freakin’ note AND she remembered all the lyrics…unlike some people (ahem Christina). But get this, Kelly decided she wanted to “cheat” a little bit by using a lyric prompter so that she wouldn’t get skinned by the media if she accidentally flubbed.

And she even admitted that she begged her manager for a lyric prompter. She told The Bert Show, “I tried to cheat. I told my manager, ‘People are killing her (Aguilera)! Just have them up somewhere on video, we’ll make it look like it’s for the crowd!’ I felt so sorry for her – they killed her. Honestly, we’re human and how often do you sing that song? Never!”

But the teleprompter wasn’t exactly a lifesaver for Clarkson. She explained, “They didn’t do it right… I’d sing the line and it would come up with a delay. I was like, ‘Now it’s messing me up!’ so then I shut my eyes. You’d have thought the lyrics were on my eyelids, I had my eyes shut the whole time.”

I’d say she rocked it, teleprompter or not. I guess it’s best to be safe than get mutilated by the media!

David Beckham’s Superbowl Ad is Drool-worthy

H&M has released the David Beckham Superbowl ad and I can’t even know what to say. Why they decided to use the Animals’ hit song “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” is quite mind-boggling because surely there is nothing to be misunderstood about.

The camera teases us with sweeps all over Beckham’s body, leaving the lower portion…ahem…the underwear for last. Naturally. What about those tats, peeps?

As for Beckham’s involvement with the tighty whities company? Beckham said, “My design team and I spent 18 months developing the collection, it’s been a fantastic collaborative experience, and I’m very happy with the end result. Like every fan, I’m looking forward to Super Bowl Sunday.”

Well we won’t leave you waiting. In fact, you probably didn’t even read what I wrote anyhow. Just watch the sexy clip and thank me in the comments. That is, if you are still with me.

Madonna As the Half-Time Act for 2012 Super Bowl

Remember back in 2004, the infamous…surprise, if you would like to call it, where Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s performance took a creepy turn thanks to the site of a…wardrobe malfunction. (Hey, you should be very proud of how tactful I’m being right now…seriously). Yah, it was the one year that I didn’t record the Super Bowl (I usually watch it later on for the commercials and half time show. Does anyone actually watch the game?) And it also happened to be one of live television’s most shocking and unmissable moments.
