CELEB SPOTTING: Napoleon Dynamite Cast Reunites!

Flashback to 2004! Members of the cast of  cult comedy Napoleon Dynamite were spotted for a mini reunion!

Jon Heder, who played the main character, posed with Tina Majorino, who played Deb, Haylie Duff, who played Summer Wheatly, and Efren Ramirez, who played Pedro in a photo, reunited this week in celebration of the hit film’s 10th anniversary. Hill+Knowlton Strategies senior account executive Stephanie Kahan, who was also in the picture, posted the pic via Twitter saying, “Celebrating 10 sweet years of #napoleondynamite.”

The cast was also promoting the release of the anniversary Blu-Ray/DVD combination pack Napoleon Dynamite: 10 Sweet Years… of Liger Magic, Tots & Great Skills. They will also get together again next month to make an appearance at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on August 7 for a screening of the movie for the opening of the Sundance Next Fest. The appearance is definitely fitting as Napoleon Dynamite first premiered at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, eventually bringing in $44.5 million at the domestic box office, after working with a small budget of just $400,000!

Good to see some of the main characters together!

Hollywood Birthday and Premiere Celebrations at Sundance

On Tuesday, January 22, 2013, filmmakers, festival VIPS and actors including “Magic Magic” cast members Michael Cera, Emily Browning, and Gaby Hoffman, “Happy Endings” and “C.O.G” star Casey Wilson, and brothers Danny and Chris Masterson attended the fifth night of ChefDance. Guests enjoyed savory dishes from Chef Marcel Vigneron, the runner-up of the second season of “Top Chef”. The first course featured a black kale salad with pear, pomegranate, and persimmon paired with Snakeoil Cocktail Company’s “Skipped Beets” cocktail featuring Tanqueray Gin, beet water, black pepper simple syrup and fresh lemon juice.

Highlights from the evening include:

– Michael Cera and Emily Browning were two of the first to arrive for the ChefDance cocktail hour hosted by Tanqueray Gin in celebration of their film “Magic Magic”. During the cocktail reception, Michael was huddled in a corner with friends catching up and sipping a Ketel One cocktail. Later in the evening, the cast enjoyed dinner tucked away in a corner before heading out to the midnight screening of their film.

– Birthday boy, Chris Masterson, and brother Danny started off their celebrations at ChefDance. The boys sat at a table in a back room with several friends and sipped Tequila Don Julio. As dessert came out the table sang happy birthday to Chris.

– “Happy Endings” and “C.O.G.” star Casey Wilson missed the start of dinner, but still made it in time for the main course and a Tanqueray Gin cocktail.
