The Arsenio Hall Show Is Officially Canceled

Television can be unpredictable, and Arsenio Hall knows all too well. After his late night talk show, The Arsenio Hall Show, was renewed back in February, news came today that the show will not be returning for a second season.

CBS Television Distribution took back the decision, canceling the show after only one season. “Unfortunately, The Arsenio Hall Show will not return for a second season; while there are many loyal fans of the show, the series did not grow its audience enough to continue,” CBSTVD said in a statement Friday. “Arsenio is a tremendous talent and we’d like to thank him for all the hard work and energy he put into the show. We’d also like to thank Tribune and all our station group partners for their support of the show.”

Arsenio said in a statement, “When I started this adventure with CTD and Tribune, we all knew it would be a challenge — I’m gratified for the year we’ve had and proud of the show we created. I’d like to thank everyone on my staff for rallying around me and striving to make the best show possible every night.”

This really sucks! Arsenio is a really talented host, and has had a lot of great interviews and performances with celebrities the entire season. Unfortunately though, in a market where everyone is breaking into talk shows, the ratings are split, and it’s rough competition to stay afloat. Sad that Arsenio didn’t make the cut, but I’m sure this won’t be the last we hear of him. Or, at least, I hope not!

Mila Kunis Talks About Pregnancy and Engagement to Ashton Kutcher

Mila Kunis is FINALLY opening up about her pregnancy and engagement to Ashton Kutcher! The actress did an interview with Ellen DeGeneres set to air later today on Ellen’s talk show, discussing her cravings and birth plans, as well as her future with Ashton!

Mila told Ellen that she and Ashton already have a name picked out for the baby, though not revealing the gender or the name (rumor has it that it’s a girl!). She also revealed her “very stereotypical” pregnancy cravings.  “I eat sauerkraut all day long,” Mila admitted. “This is the worst craving to have because sauerkraut smells and so every time you open up a jar, it just reeks in the whole kitchen…It’s not like ice cream where everything smells lovely.” She also has been craving pickles, and Ashton keep a fridge stocked with all these crazy foods just for her!

Something else special that Ashton has been doing for Mila? Learning Russian. “He’s been taking classes for probably like six months now,” Mila said, acknowledging that she’s fluent in the language. . “He does it twice a week. A woman comes to the house to give him lessons…It’s really, really great.”

When the question arose as to what Mila would do when the baby is on the way, the actress said she wants a natural birth. “We watched a couple of documentaries and we looked into the…midwife aspect of it and things, and spoke to my OB/GYN and realized that the hospital that I’m going to be laboring in does a midwife, you know, doula type of thing,” she explained. “So I’m gonna do it as all-natural as I possibly can unless there’s an emergency or something.”

Check out the interview below!

I’ll tell you one thing, that’s going to be a gorgeous baby! I always wanted Mila and Ashton to be together, and now they are, and they seem so happy and in love!

Keke Palmer Set To Host Daily TV Show

Keke Palmer is making serious moves in the industry! The actress, in connection with BET and Telepictures, will host her own TV show geared towards young adults this summer!

The series, tentatively called The Keke Palmer Project, was picked up for an initial four-week run, and will premiere in July, airing Mondays-Fridays. Judge Greg Mathis, whose own show Judge Mathis is produced by Telepictures, will be executive producer over the project, after being heavily involved in bringing this deal together.

The show will cover various topics, including fashion, pop culture, social issues, celebrity interviews, and more. The idea for the show, Keke acknowledged, stems from her interaction on social media with her fans. “I like to read quotes that touch on how I am feeling,” she said. “If I am dealing with confusion, I will read quotes about clarity and peace of mind. I started posting these quotes on my Twitter page, and the fans responded so positively! I realized that many of them were dealing with similar issues, and the quotes helped to open up a genuine dialogue between us.”

When the show airs, Keke will become the youngest talk show host in TV history (currently, it’s Ricki Lake, who was 25 when she started her talk show).

Congrats to Keke! It’s very well deserved, and I’m definitely excited for it. Keke is a very positive and talented celeb, and I’m ready to see what she’s come up with for this show!

Chelsea Handler Will End Chelsea Lately After Eight Years

Chelsea Handler is moving on to greener pastures. After eight years on the E! network, she has announced through her manager, Irving Azoff, her popular late night show Chelsea Lately, will come to an end.

Irving told The Hollywood Reporter that after Chelsea’s contract is up at the end of this year, she will leave the show and E! behind. “Chelsea intends to leave when her contract expires,” he said. “She hired me to figure out her life after E! We have at least seven suitors and many ideas.”

Chelsea has had no problems expressing her frustrations with the E! network, calling it “a sad, sad place to live,” on The Howard Stern Show and adding, “They don’t know what they’re doing. They have no ideas. It’s a failure.”

“Chelsea has nine months left on her contract, and E! will not comment on the future of Chelsea Lately at this time,” an E! spokesperson said to Us Weekly.

I’m sure this won’t be the end of Chelsea Handler. I think she’s just over working with E! and wants out. I’m sure another network will pick her up, especially with her ratings. Her personality is too big to just fizzle out now. I wish her the best of luck with the transition!

Oprah Tells Lindsay Lohan to “Cut the Bull” In Reality Show Extended Promo

Oprah got Lindsay Lohan TOGETHER in the extended promo of Lindsay’s upcoming reality show, Lindsay, on OWN!

The clip gives an inside look into how difficult the actress was while filming her life after her stint in rehab.

“So we were supposed to start shooting at 12:30 and Lindsay is locked out of her apartment. Which means we might not start shooting for a couple of hours,” director Amy Rice says with a sigh after a number of Lindsay’s tearful scenes from the first trailer are shown. She then jumps on her cell phone and says, “She’s not letting us into her apartment.”

Oprah soon comes in to settle the fuss. “My truth is that I really do want you to win. I really do,” the talk-show host says. “If that isn’t what you want, I’m OK with that, you know, I will tell these guys to pack up and leave.”

“No, it’s not that I’m not ready to do that, I do want to,” Lindsay replies before Oprah lets her know upfront: “You need to cut the bulls–t then, you really do.”

Check out the extended sneak peek below!

Lindsay premieres on Sunday, March 9, at 10 p.m. on OWN. I will definitely be watching! I’m rooting for Lindsay, though I’m not exactly sure how a reality show is going to help her better her life. I hope she stays on the right track, though!

Will you be watching?

The Arsenio Hall Show Renewed for a Second Season

Arsenio Hall got a really nice surprise on the set of The Arsenio Hall Show during Wednesday night’s episode! Turns out that CBS picked up a second season of his talk show…and Jay Leno came out to surprise him with the good news!

After sneaking up behind Arsenio, Jay told him and the audience  the news. Arsenio hugged him, saying “How come I don’t get my news first?!” Jay replied, “He’s more annoyed that I knew before he did!” Jay then joked, “Actually, in the second season, I’m going to be hosting. They didn’t tell you that part!”

Check out the surprise below!

“We are thrilled that Arsenio will be returning for a second season,” Joe DiSalvo, president of sales at CBS Television Distribution said in a statement. “We knew Arsenio had a built-in fan base, but he’s also reaching a new generation. This season, Arsenio has been the youngest late-night talk show on broadcast television and has given our station partners a real alternative for their late-night lineups.”

Arsenio also said in a statement, “Since 9/9/13, I’ve been waking up without an alarm clock. Producing and hosting my late-night talk show brings me great joy. I’m back where I belong! Thanks to my partners at CBS Television Distribution and Tribune.”

I’m really happy for Arsenio! Averaging 6.7 million views a week, the show has been doing very well, and has had a slew of great artists and other celebs come on. Arsenio’s naturally a good host, so it’ll be great to see another season. Hopefully there’s many more to come!

Brooke Burke-Charvet Fired From Dancing With The Stars

Looks like Brooke Burke-Charvet has been eliminated. After eight seasons serving as co-host on Dancing With the Stars, the actress has been dropped from the show!

“We can confirm that Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be joining us next season,” Conrad Green, executive producer of DWTS told Us Weekly in a statement. “She’s been a wonderful part of the Dancing with the Stars family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team. We’d like to thank Brooke for her years of great service.”

This is what Brooke had to say after hearing the news on Twitter:

Brooke first hit the show as a contestant alongside Derek Hough in season 7, taking home the beloved mirror ball trophy. She started hosting with Tom Bergeron in Season 10.

This isn’t the only shakeup that those behind the show have cooked up. Music director Harold Wheeler and the 28 members of his band that backed the dancers since the very beginning of the show!

I don’t know what’s going on at ABC, and what the network’s game plan is for the coming season, but I hope these changes don’t blow up in folks’ faces!

Bethenny Frankel’s Talk Show Cancelled

It’s official. Bethenny Frankel‘s talk show, Bethenny, has been cancelled. And the show’s only halfway through its first season.

A rep for Telepictures released a statement saying, “We are incredibly proud of the creativity, passion and professionalism Bethenny and her staff brought to daytime each and every day and look forward to finishing out the season with more great original episodes. While we are disappointed not to be able to bring the series back for a second season, we remain convinced that she has a unique voice and that she will continue to be successful in the future.”

Bethenny herself added, “I had a blast doing this show with Telepictures. My entire staff worked so hard and made everyday so much fun. I am thankful for the experience and for all my fans who tuned in every day.”

The show will remain in production through the end of the current season which will end in May.

I can’t really say that I’m surprised. Bethenny’s ratings weren’t the best. You have quite other talk show hosts, like Wendy Williams and Queen Latifah, that offer the same things that Bethenny does–celebrity news, interviews, and the like. There’s nothing really original about the show.  I like Bethenny, but I don’t think she stood out enough. Hopefully, she finds a new successful venture elsewhere. Wishing her the best.

Olivia Newton-John Headlining Her Own Show In Vegas

Olivia Newton-John is the newest celeb to hit the strip! The singer and actress announced that she will headline a new show in Las Vegas!

The show is set to be called Summer Nights. Olivia will  perform 45 shows at the Donny and Marie Showroom at The Flamingo. Dates are scheduled through the summer, with the first show starting April 8.

Organizers say the show will feature Grease classics including “Hopelessly Devoted to You” and “You’re the One That I Want,” as well as Olivia’s own pop songs.

Olivia isn’t the only star making money in Vegas. Artists like Boyz II Men, Shania Twain, and Donny and Marie Osmond are still performing there. Even Britney Spears has a show now at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. With the huge crowds that come into these casinos and ballrooms, seems like Vegas is the place to be!

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Hosting Golden Globes For Two More Years

Comedy will continue to shine at the Golden Globes for the next two years! Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have  signed on with NBC and Dick Clark Prods. to host the award show in 2014 and 2015.

It was expected that the duo would make their way back to the show as hosts after their success at this year’s Globes. The telecast ratings spiked 28% in the key 18-49 demo, exactly the audience NBC wants!

“Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season,” said Paul Telegdy, NBC’s prexy of alternative and latenight programming.  “We’re elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years.”

Definitely good news! I love them together and they definitely brought a great energy that the show needed.

True Blood To End in 2014

Say it ain’t so! HBO’s hit series True Blood is saying goodbye in 2014, with the upcoming seventh season being the show’s last. The network made the announcement just yesterday.

True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO,” Michael Lombardo, president of HBO Programming, said in a statement. “Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”

The season finale was INTENSE, showing Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) almost forced to become a faerie-vampire bride to her crazy love interest vampire Warlow (Rob Kazinsky), but she was saved by her brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten). We also see Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) being burned by the sun over in Europe as he sat reading a book butt naked after he thought he was free to walk around in the light, as well as a bunch of Hepititis V-infected vampires heading straight for Bon Temps! No one knows what’s going to happen next summer!

Brian Buckner, the series’ showrunner in recent years, said that the show won’t disappoint for the final season. “As we take a final walk through Bon Temps together, we will do our very best to bring Sookie’s story to a close with heart, imagination and, of course, fun,” he said.

I’m not too too surprised. I heard the rumors floating around earlier on in the summer that True Blood might go off the air, but still! That show makes my Sunday nights during the summer! Ehh all good things must eventually come to an end, I guess. I’m just hoping that the show really goes out with a bang, but still has a great resolution, not leaving viewers in the dark. We’ll see what happens!

What do you think of True Blood going off the air?
