Celebrity Gossip Heard All Over The Web

Harry Connick, Jr. Joins American Idol

10991291-borgata-shows-acAnd now we all can get on with our lives!

After an exhaustive search that mentioned nearly every singer known to the world over the past months, the producers of American Idol have finally harassed someone into signing on the dotted line. Let’s just thank our lucky stars it’s not Nicki Minaj!

News reports are confirming that singer/actor Harry Connick, Jr. is coming tot he table and he will be sharing it with Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez for the 13th season of the show. Connick already has experience on the show, serving as a mentor and guest judge in season 12. The producers have been after Connick for some time and we are guessing the money finally made him put his Hancock on the contract.

So will there be a fourth judge this year, or is that J.Lo’s ass?

Randy Jackson Will Not Be Denied!

No matter what American Idol seems to do, they just cannot seem to get rid of Randy Jackson! When they tried to get rid of him last year, he took them off his trail by promising Mariah Carey. Well, now that she’s gone, the rumors were that he was completely gone from the show as well.
Think again!

Reports are running fast and furious that Randy will replace mentor Jimmy Iovine for the next season since Iovine is allegedly bowing out. Randy certainly has enough experience as a producer and mentor. The question is if audiences still want to see him screaming at them ‘daaawg’ for another six months or longer?

Wo will the judges be this year? How many judges will there be this year? So far, all we know is that Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez are returning.

Randy Jackson to America Idol: I Quit

They say the best defense is an exceptional offense. Buoyed by reports that surfaced just only yesterday that producers of American Idol are seeking to replace all the judges, not only Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson has beat them to the punch by running to the press himself and declaring that he is leaving the show after 12 years and millions of ‘yo dawg’s’ later.

If you remember way back last year, the producers kept Randy on and signed Mariah, since getting her to sign was contingent on him remaining on the panel himself. Here is what he had to say about this latest newsrandy:

“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season. I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”

Plug for his company, undercover verbal slap to the AI producers, and could he now be joining up with Simon Cowell on X-Factor? Stay tuned….

Randy Jackson Talks Butter and Fried Chicken on The Doctors

The Emmy®-winning syndicated daytime talk show, The Doctors, welcomes Grammy® Award-Winning producer and American Idol judge, Randy Jackson, to the show on Tuesday, March 5 (check local listings). In a show on embarrassing body problems, Jackson opens up about his dramatic weight loss and the Type 2 diabetes diagnosis that forced him to get in tune with his health.

Jackson, who topped the scales at 355 pounds when first diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2003, has since shed 110 pounds with the help of gastric bypass surgery and now draws from his personal experience to educate others on the impact nutrition plays in the treatment and prevention of the disease.

When asked about his eating habits leading up to his diagnosis Jackson said, “I’m from the lovable ‘Dirty South,’ where everything is fried. Every dish starts with a stick of butter, a cup of sugar, and that’s only for the veggies.”

Jackson adds, “I look back at the first couple of seasons [of American Idol] and ask myself what was going on. It’s a great reminder to me to show how far I’ve come.”

Also in the show, Jackson surprises a young fan dealing with Type 2 diabetes as well and offers her a wake-up call to better manage her illness before neglect causes long-term damage.

Tune in this Tuesday, March 5 (check local listings) for the complete interview with Randy Jackson and the revealing truth behind the most embarrassing medical questions.

Nicki Minaj vs. Mariah Carey: Round #37

It’s probably been more rounds than that, but I’m erring on the side of conservatism.

And why is Nicki Minaj even ON ‘American Idol’ anyway? The judges are supposed to be musical heavyweights with countless years and hits on their resumes. I would list here Mariah’s hits against Nicki Minaj’s, but my editor likes me to keep these posts under a certain amount of words for all you sufferers of attention deficit disorder.

Where was I?

So down south in Charlotte, North Carolina, the showdown that everyone has been waiting for went off. But before the verbal slaps could get too heated, what did the producer of ‘American Idol’ do?

He came in to referee and dashed all our hopes of weaves flying, cotton candy hair spraying across the room, and Keith Urban running for Nicole!

“That’s a wrap for today!”, Nigel Lythgoe proclaimed just before the proverbial sh*t hit the fan.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again. Mariah may look nice and sweet, but a girl from Long Island isn’t going to let some Power Puff reject come at her too many times.

You better watch your back, Nicki. Mariah’s got about 6 inches and 2 layers of weave, and a yo-yo dieting big black man on her side waiting on you!idol18f-2-web

Nicki Minaj Coming To E!

Just when I was thinking to myself that E! had more than enough big asses on their payroll in the Kardashians, now comes word that another fat ass is dragging her bum to the network.

Fresh from her recent signing to American Idol as one of three new judges (including Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson), the hip-pop star has inked a deal that will have her and her Rainbow Brite inspired hair featured in a series of specials for the network. The three shows are set to begin airing this fall and are meant to shed further insight into the inner workings of all things Minaj.

The good news out of all this for me is that it will not be a reality show that we are forced to see every day, five times a day. No one needs mass quantities of this! I think I speak for about 90% of the world’s population when I say that there’s enough ass on the E! network already. Any additional assault on our senses should be classified as abuse of some kind. I mean seriously…

is there a hotline for this bombardment of hot ass mess?!

Randy Jackson Is Still A Judge

That is, if Simon Cowell is to be believed. The former judge on American Idol tweeted yesterday to his nearly 4 million followers the news.
“Just heard Randy is back on Idol,” Cowell tweeted to his 3.6 million followers. “Right decision.”

This news can be viewed at many different angles. It could mean that the producers of American Idol cannot afford all of the contenders for next season’s judges. Between Enrique Iglesias, Keith Urban, and Nicki Minaj, the salaries for all of them combined would hover around $15 million dollars. That is a considerable sum yes, but that does not even include the salary of Mariah Carey, who is expected to make about $18 million dollars, and is currently the only judge signed so far.

Perhaps Carey threw around her considerable weight (pun not intended) to get Jackson back in a judging chair? The two are very close friends and Jackson is also one of Mariah’s music producers for many years. One thing for certain is that having Randy Jackson back will free up millions of dollars for whomever else they do sign. If they retain a three judge format, then Keith Urban and Enrique (possibly Adam Lambert) have a shot and that leaves Nicki Minaj the tranny man out. If they decide to revert back to a four person judging table, then Minaj is back on as a potential judge and Mimi may have a coronary. The producers at American Idol have less than two weeks to get this table going full steam ahead.
Stay tuned!

Randy Jackson is Out, Dawg

Another American Idol era is coming to an end, with reports that Randy “you’re pitchy dawn” Jackson is officially leaving and will not return to the judge’s table.

Apparently, Randy will still be part of the show as a mentor, but that’s not exactly the same thing.

As for his replacement, sources tell TMZ that Nicki Minaj’s deal is 99% done.

It seems everyone that needs to know, knows that MC isn’t a fan of Nicki and doesn’t really want her sitting at the judges table with her, but producers think this is just fabulous because drama gets ratings (at least most of the time.)

But the shake up isn’t done, because AI will also have a 4th judge. So, producers are said to be looking to fill the 3rd vacancy with someone from the country music scene and who knows who else for that 4th seat at the table.

Who would you like to see on A.I.?

Enrique Iglesis Headed to American Idol?!

Fresh off the heels of me reporting that (alleged) hip-hop star Nicki Minaj is joining the judges table on American Idol, now comes word that Latin pop sensation Enrique Iglesias may also be joining the table as well. So my questions are this: is Randy ‘Dawg’ Jackson being shown the door? Are they expanding to a four-person judging table again?

There are reports that Randy Jackson may be demoted moved into a mentoring role, but where does that leave Jimmy Iovine? Everyone loves him in that position and he has proven to be great in it. How could Randy possibly top that snarkiness?!

Further complicating matters on casting is that there are additional reports that Kanye West is being considered for a role too. Also, Mariah Carey is reportedly non too pleased that Nicki Minaj is being considered for the table. It seems that she was lead to believe that she would be the lone woman on the panel for the upcoming season. I have no idea how this is all going to play out, but if Nicki and Mariah get into a spat on air, I am totally placing all my Hello Kitty money on none other than Mimi!

Randy Jackson Leaving American Idol?

We heard yesterday that Steven Tyler is leaving American Idol and rumors that Jennifer Lopez may leave her judging chair have been swirling as well. But now we are hearing that THE original “G” Randy Jackson is also making and planning his big move. So we will have yet another Idol judge shakeup?!

A source told Us Weekly that “[Show producers] think they need to freshen everything up now.”

In other words, everyone has got to go.

Rumor has it that Adam Lambert has been in talks to fill in as a judge as is Mariah Carey!
The source told Us that “They are in serious talks with Mariah and it’s very close to being a done deal. And they will move Randy into a more mentoring role.”

From what it sounds like we will most likely hear Mariah’s announcement soon after the paperwork is signed. In addition to Carey, Fergie and Adam Lambert are also strong possibilities.

As for Tyler, he said in a statement released on Thursday, “After some long…hard…thoughts…I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit . . .I strayed from my first love, AEROSMITH, and I’m back – but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band. IDOL was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it.”

Who would you like to see as an Idol judge?

Adam Levine Responds to Randy Jackson’s The Voice Comments

In an interview that was released today, American Idol judge Randy Jackson got a little sassy for his britches, offending The Voice judge Adam Levine.

Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Levine make an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, February 3rd to chat about Randy Jackson’s comments on “The Voice”.

Ellen: So Randy Jackson said, basically because there are bunch of singing competitions on the air right now. Randy said that, ‘The Voice” is basically kind of a second chance place. People that don’t get in someplace else go to ‘The Voice.”

Adam Levine: I heard about this. Shame on Randy Jackson for saying that because he out of anybody should know that if you’re in this business you need second, third, fourth and fifth chances. So we love and embrace that being part of the show. You know, god bless Randy. He was a working musician for a long time and had a lot of success and then the show “Idol” kind of blew him out of the water. And he is a household name now. It was an irresponsible thing to say that.

Bam! Randy Jackson, you may now respond.
