Truth & Salvage Co. are set to return July 23rd with their second album, Pick Me Up, which works to build on their blend of rock and Americana that they introduced us to on their 2010 self 0titled debut album.
The band’s signature sound comes courtesy of their four lead vocalists and five talented songwriters. Their four-part harmonies and strong guitar-keyboard make for pure awesomeness.
So what’s new with their latest album? Well, the band co-produced Pick Me Up with Jon Ashley, while longtime band cohort Bill Reynolds handled the mix. Recorded at Echo Mountain studio in Asheville, NC, the album features 12 original tracks along with a cover of Joe South’s Grammy-winning 1968 hit “Games People Play.”
Be on the look out for an upcoming tour announcement, as Truth & Salvage Co. hit the road to support their latest installment!
The Bad Times (Kinnebrew, Young, Jones, Smith, Grace)
He just released his first single Suit and Tie a few days ago and along with a lyric video came a release date…for his NEW album! That’s right, Justin Timberlake is set to release his brand new album The 20/20 Experience on March 19th!
It’s been a long-awaited comeback and I cannot wait to see the mayhem that ensues. Will there be a tour? Will there be major promotional appearances for this release?
At the end of his lyric video, J Tizzle said, “Back in June of last year, I quietly started working on what is now my next journey with that thing I love called music. The inspiration for this really came out of the blue, and to be honest, I didn’t expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs.”
Suit and Tie features Jay-Z and is the lead single off of his new album. The single set a new chart record in the United States as the highest first week plays on American radio AND it became the highest debut for a male artist after it hit number 14 on Billboard’s Pop Songs chart.
Justin, we’ve missed you dahling! Now come show the music world who is boss.
Remember Chevonne? Fresh off NBC’s “The Voice”, Season 3, it’s time for this big hair, big eyed Jersey girl to release her debut record and music video. Hands down the best Kickstarter yet, there are pledge prizes ranging from: Chevonne’s blind audition denim booty shorts from “The Voice”, a customized and signed acoustic-electric guitar used to write the debut album, a walk-on role in the music video, signed/customized microphone, and more!
Recently taking reality TV by storm on NBC’s “The Voice”, Chevonne sashayed through three rounds as a quirky underdog. She turned pop/soul megastar Cee Lo Green’s chair, as well as country bigwig Blake Shelton’s, with her sassy rendition of The Pretenders’ “Brass In Pocket” with almost 200k views. Before choosing a coach, she was asked to open up about the “pain” Green heard in her voice. She admitted to the live audience-and the 15+ million viewers watching on TV-that she suffered from eating disorders and crippling insecurity, and that she channels this pain when she sings and performs. She earned nods and applause from the other two coaches, Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine, and Grammy-winning powerhouse singer, Christina Aguilera, before selecting Cee Lo as her coach.
As a member of Team Cee Lo, she wowed both Cee Lo and his team advisor, Matchbox 20’s Rob Thomas as she nailed rehearsals for her battle round with Avery Wilson on the David Guetta ft. Sia song “Titanium” which has over 450k views here. Although Chevonne didn’t win the battle against her 17-year-old friend and teammate, she was given high praise for her risky and bold stage moves and soaring high notes. Christina Aguilera saved Chevonne with the new “coach steal” feature, applauding Chevonne for her flamboyant and exciting performance vibe.
On Team Xtina, Chevonne pushed the envelope by choosing Billy Idol’s “Dancing With Myself,” for the Knockout round, paying homage to her love of 80s rock and celebrating her ability to thrive on the show with a fun crowd-pleaser. When Chevonne debuted the performance after being paired up with gospel/soul singer De’borah Garner, the crowd’s amped-up reaction was palpable. She nailed the song top to bottom, and all four coaches praised her progress and her command of the stage. Ultimately, Chevonne was sent home, but not before Christina implored the leather-clad firecracker to pursue her own original music and artistry. Christina stated, “Chevonne, you are just unafraid to go to that ledge, in all capacities, and just jump off and be like ‘this is me, take it or leave it! You were just out there, as a woman, having fun and I love that about you!” In addition, Chevonne earned countless hype from E! News, Rolling Stone, TV Guide, MTV, Huffington Post, and many more!
Before surprising audiences with her song and fashion choices on “The Voice,” Chevonne sang backup for visionary pop artist and fashion tastemaker Lady Gaga on her MonsterBall world arena tour from 2010-2011. She danced, sang, and improv’d her way through the campy, dark show, making it onto Good Morning America, Radio 1’s Big Weekend, and even HBO’s live 2-hour special taped at the Madison Square Garden performances, as well as being a part of the “Born This Way” a cappella bonus song from the MSG shows that became a viral video smash hit.
Before touring with Gaga, Chevonne spent eight months with British R&B pop Estelle, most famous for her hit “American Boy.” Tour highlights with Estelle included the World Cup in Cape Town, The Essence music festival in New Orleans, and an NYC taping of BET’s “Rising Icons” series.

Oh my freakin’ gawd. I think I just filled my Depends. I just got word that my boy Justin Timberlake is back in the studio making NEW music.
After SIX years from abandoning his musical talent in the form of album creation, J-Tizzle is back working with producers Timbaland and Jim Beanz and it has been confirmed via Jim!
Jim told Digital Spy, “When I get back to the States I’m going to be helping out on Shock Value 3 with Timbaland and the Justin Timberlake project. It’s still in the early stages, but they have a lot of tracks. While I’ve been over here in the UK they’ve been working, so by the time I get back they’ll have a whole load of ideas and I’m going to have to catch up!”
This will be Justin’s first album since 2006’s very popular and highly successful FutureSex/LoveSounds.
Jim wanted to make one thing clear though, Justin is not focused on topping Sexyback, because really could it even be possible?
Jim added, “There are certain artists who can get inside with great charisma and energy and make great music every time. So it’s not really about topping the last record, it’s more about topping music that comes on the radio. Everything is so similar that it’s about topping that and doing something different, and that’s what they are going for.”
In a recent post on their website, Grammy Award-winning No Doubt revealed the artwork for “Settle Down,” the debut single off their highly anticipated new album, Push and Shove! The group’s latest album will be released via Interscope Records September 25th.
“Settle Down” will be released July 16th with the video premiering the same day.
He’s stood for her side through thick (curves) and thin and now Christina Aguilera is giving her boyfriend Matthew Rutler his big break in music. Come on, you KNEW this was coming.
He’s put in the time as weave washer, bleach mixer and umbrella holder and pussy popper, but now Rutler has moved on up to the big leagues.
Xtina fell for production assistant Rutler on the set of her movie musical Burlesque and now he is working on her next album with her…as SONGWRITER! Say, what? I know!
A source tells JustJared.com, “Matt has come a long way from being a production assistant on Christina’s movie Burlesque. He’s now a songwriter, working on new tracks for her new album. People will be surprised by the sound they’ve put together.”
Well this ought to be interesting. I just hope this doesn’t turn into some kinky house music kind of ish where Xtina waves around her glow-in-the-dark club sticks.
Melody Gardot recently released a brand new video clip, dishing on the inspiration behind her upcoming album, The Absence. The enchanting behind-the-scenes piece is narrated by none other than Melody herself and features commentary from renowned guitarist Hector Pereira, whose Spanish guitars provide the backbone for the new record.
One of the most successful independent rock bands, Dispatch, announced they’ll release their first album in twelve years- Circles Around The Sun- on August 21st via their own Bomber Records.
Produced by Peter Katis, Circles Around The Sun is an eclectic all-American rock and roll recored that delivers on both its gutsy storytelling and compelling songwriting. Essentially, the album encompasses just what fans have always loved.
Get ready Green Day fans, because the band is currently working hard in the studio, recording not one, not two, but THREE(!) different albums- a trilogy. A rock trilogy you say? Hell to the Yes.
The three new albums, entitled , ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!, will be released by Reprise Records on Tuesday, September 25th 2012; Tuesday, November 13th 2012 and Tuesday, January 15th 2013. The albums are the follow-up to the Grammy Award-winning 21st Century Breakdown, and are being produced by the band’s long-time producer Rob Cavallo, and are being recorded in the band’s hometown of Oakland, CA.
“We are at the most prolific and creative time in our lives. This is the best music we’ve ever written, and the songs just keep coming,” said the band. “Instead of making one album, we are making a three album trilogy. Every song has the power and energy that represents Green Day on all emotional levels. We just can’t help ourselves… We are going epic as fuck!”
“Epic as fuck”- I look forward to it!
Green Day is set to play several music festivals this summer, with confirmed dates listed below (and more to be added.)
Celine Dion has been given the go ahead to start recording her new album after suffering from a nasty viral infection. The self-proclaimed Greatest Singer in the World (GSITW) got sick earlier this year and she was forced to cancel a bunch of shows that surely pissed off people who probably spent a few hundred dollars on tickets and probably airfare tickets to travel to see her. Because apparently peeps fly from all over the world just to see See-leen Dee-Own pound her chest like Tarzan.
The GSITW released a statement letting errone know that she ain’t going nowhere. Dion says in a statement, “During this recovery period, so many fans, many of whom were inconvenienced by the cancelled shows, have posted kind words of encouragement on my website. I’m so grateful for their thoughts and their support… more than they’ll ever know.”
And just so you know, she will be back on stage showing off her gams, making goofy faces and chest pounding at the Caesars Palace on June 9th.
Brandy is going ahead and giving her next album the title Two Eleven (2/11) to honor her own birthday AND her late idol Whitney Houston. Whitney passed away on Brandy’s birthday. It’s crappy enough that Whit died, but it’s even worse that she’ll forever have to have her own birthday associated with the death of her idol. So sad.
But even though she is coping alright, she is excited and hopeful for her new album. She said, “I really feel like this is my chance to get it right. I don’t want to make any mistakes. We want to make sure we have the first single, the right first single, so we don’t have to do a bunch of remixes and stuff like that.”
In other words, she needs to step up her game. Anyone remember her last album “Human”? Yeah, me neither.
Hey at least she recognizes it wasn’t successful. She added, “I can’t come off of an unsuccessful album and do that again. I can’t do that. That’s why things are taking forever and I’m really trying to get everything right.”
