Celebrity Gossip Heard All Over The Web

Taylor Swift Reportedly Joins The Voice As Advisor

Taylor Swift has reportedly signed on for a role with The Voice!

The singer will serve as an advisor for the upcoming seventh season of the competition. Like Coldplay singer Chris Martin in the sixth season, Taylor will be advising contestants across all four teams.

Taylor will work alongside coaches Adam LevineBlake SheltonGwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams. Other advisros include the legendary Stevie Wonder (who is working with Adam), Gavin Rossdale (working with wife Gwen), Little Big Town (working with Blake), and Alicia Keys (working with Pharrell).

Taylor has been in the industry for a little while, and has had a great amount of success and impact, so it makes sense that she would be a guest mentor. I’m sure she will have great advice for the contestants.

REPORT: Gwen Stefani Might Be Joining The Voice

Looks like Gwen Stefani might be the newest judge in that revolving chair! TMZ has reported that the singer is in talks to join The Voice!

If the reports are true, Gwen would replace pregnant Christina Aguilera on the upcoming seventh season. She would sit alongside Pharrell Williams who is already set to take CeeLo Green‘s spot. Original judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are expected to return.

TMZ  is reporting the one-year deal is official, and that producers first began the search in February after Aguilera announced her pregnancy. NBC wanted Christina to stay, but she was “having a difficult time already and ultimately bowed out.” NBC had no comment.

I think it would be great to see Gwen on the show. She has a lot of musical experience, and would be sure to bring a lot of great advice to the next season’s contestants. My advice to NBC, if this story isn’t true, to strongly consider it! I think it is, but they’re trying to keep it under wraps for a little while. We’ll see soon enough. Filming is set to begin in June and the show will premiere in the fall.

Meg Ryan Is Bringing Her Pinched Face to the Small Screen

Not that we were exactly missing her, but Meg Ryan is about to make a comeback of sorts, and she is taking it back to where she first gained success.

NBC and Ryan’s production company are combining their forces to bring a pilot to the network that stars Ryan as a single mother who returns to the workforce and is supervised by a much younger co-worker, who used to be her intern at the company.

No word yet on who else is in the show or even a name, but for her fans, this will be a welcome surprise. Ryan has been keeping her name and (new) face out of the media since raising her daughter Daisy and dating John Mellencamp.

Let’s see if she still have that magic!

Mekhi Phifer Is a Married Man

Hollywood’s hitched just added one more over the weekend. Mekhi Phifer, formerly on the hit NBC sitcom ER, wed his fiance Reshelet Barnes this Saturday at the Montage Hotel. In front of more than 100 close family and friends, the two exchanged vows as Stevie Wonder’s ‘Ribbon in the Sky‘ played in the background. According to reports, Phifer wept tears of joy for several minutes as his bride came down the aisle.

The ceremony lasted for about 15 minutes and included a standing ovation from the crowd on hand. Phifer’s son was also on hand with a chihuahua on a leash.

Congratulations to the couple and here’s to many years of wedded bliss!

America’s Got Talent Adds Heidi Klum To Judge Panel

It looks like Heidi Klum is going to be added as the fourth judge to America’s Got Talent, which has been making the rumor mill rounds for months now and finally has been confirmed.

Out is Sharon Osbourne and in are Scary Spice, Mel B. and the latest cast member is none other than supermodel (and former wife of Seal) Heidi Klum. The star was spotted in New Orleans on Sunday, fueling speculation that she is definitely the show’s fourth judge and will be sharing judging duties with Howie Mandel and Howard Stern. Of course, NBC is trying to keep this as quiet as possible to get some free publicity from it, but her name has already been spotted on promos inside the studios and it is all but a given. The only clue that Klum has given is a tweet in which she said she was “going on a journey”. Now the question is, how much is this journey going to cost NBC? Klum’s publicist had no comment. We’ll get to the bottom of this sooner as opposed to later!

Usher and Shakira Joining The Voice Next Season

The coaches for hit NBC show The Voice are changing up for Season 4! Usher and Shakira will take the place of present coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo GreenNBC announcedAdam Levine and Blake Shelton are staying on, at least through the next season.

Christina and Cee Lo wanted to take a break to work on other projects. Christina will be touring to promote her new album, Lotus, and Cee Lo has plans for new music and a scripted comedy about his life. However, both promise that they will be back!  “By pursuing my first passion of music during the break, I am also able to come back and offer even more to my team on The Voice in the future,” Christina said in a statement.

“I will return for season five and will be watching season four,” Cee Lo was quoted as saying.

“We are thrilled to welcome Usher and Shakira to The Voice,” Robert Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment, said in statement. “Doing two back-to-back cycles of this show requires a tremendous amount of time and we are happy to accommodate the commitments made by Christina and Cee Lo.”

That will be an interesting change to the line up!

Amy Poehler and Will Arnett Are Splitsville

After nine years of marriage, two of America’s funniest people are calling it quits.

No, I am not referring to Mitt and Ann Romney. I meant funny people that are funny on purpose.

Comedienne Amy Poehler, the star of NBC’s Parks and Recreation and Will Arnett, star of NBC’s Up All Night, officially announced their decision, according to People magazine. This was the second marriage for Will Arnett, who was previously married to actress Penelope Ann Miller. This was the first marriage for Amy Poehler.

In an interesting twist, both of the comedians are nominated this year for Emmy awards. Poehler has been nominated as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for Parks and Recreation. Arnett has been nominated for a guest-starring role on 30 Rock.

Let’s hope that NBC employs these two for the foreseeable future, as they have two small sons to feed.

NBC’s “Stars Earn Stripes” Celebrity Cast Revealed!

Producer Mark Burnett is bringing us yet another reality competition show, we just got word from our peeps at NBC. Hosts General Wesley Clark (ret.) and Samantha Harris join a celebrity cast including Laila Ali, Dean Cain, Terry Crews, Nick Lachey, Todd Palin, Dolvett Quince, Picabo Street and Eve Torres in the action-packed competition that is sure to make reality television a tad more interesting.

I know what you are thinking…Todd Palin?!!!! I know. I saw W-T-F as well. At any rate, here is the synopsis:

The TV cop who wants to prove he can handle a gun in real life. The athlete making the transition from field to battlefield. The singer who wants to show how well she can perform under a different kind of pressure.

In this fierce, entertaining and emotionally charged new competition honoring America’s armed forces, nine celebrities will gather at a secret training facility where they will be challenged to execute complicated missions inspired by real military exercises. From helicopter drops into treacherous locations to long range weapons fire, these stars will be tested physically, mentally and emotionally – and emerge in awe of the men and women who do such tasks on behalf of our country every day.

From executive producers Dick Wolf (“Law & Order” franchise), Mark Burnett (“Survivor,” “The Voice”) and David Hurwitz (“Fear Factor”), this extraordinary show will donate money raised through the competition to veterans’ charities. Committed to hiring recent vets onto the crew, “Stars Earn Stripes” hopes to inspire other employers throughout the country to make similar commitments to our returning heroes, not to mention proving how impossible their service missions really are.

I think that it is about time that they create a show that sheds a good light on the military and law enforcement. Let’s see what these celebs can do!

Guiliana and Bill Rancic Will Host New Dating Show

Yet another dating show on the verizon, but this one I might actually watch! NBC has announced that a new dating series, Ready for Love, will premiere in the winter season of this year. The show, produced by Eva Longoria, will be hosted by adorable couple Giuliana and Bill Rancic!

According a press release, Ready for Love will “give three successful and handsome men who are committed to finding the right woman the chance of finding their soul mate.”

Paul Telegdy, who serves as president of alternative and late night programming at NBC stated, “We are thrilled to have Eva leading the charge creatively. She has

enlisted the help of the three best matchmakers in the world, each with their own philosophies and approaches to guiding singles towards love.”

“This show is about making real connections and the ongoing search for love, something that both men and women can relate to,” Eva said. “I am excited to be a part of such an innovative and promising format that will help these great guys find true love.”

No clue as to who these  matchmakers could be yet, but the news is forthcoming. Tough Love‘s Steve Ward revealed that he has been considered for the position, but nothing is set yet.

Can’t even lie. I’m a sucker for scripted, sappy, drama-full love shows! Plus I love Guiliana and Bill, so I can’t wait to see them host together. And who knows? Maybe an actual married and in-love couple on a dating show might actually bring about some real true love! Well, as real as reality TV can give, I guess.

30 Rock Coming to an End?

Or, at least, that’s what we might think if we were following Alec Baldwin on Twitter. Making news yet again, several news outlets caught wind of the tweet that stated, “I haven’t appeared on the Today Show in many years, but did they have to camp outside my apt?” Quickly followed by, “I think I’m leaving NBC just in time.”

In response to his tweet, Tina Fey confirms that, indeed, the end is near. Err, I mean, for 30 Rock. Fey announces that she will definitely be going down with the ship on this one, telling the View, “As far as I know, he’s not leaving the show. We’re all in this together ’til the end.”

And then the conversation continues as Baldwin attempts to pull that foot promptly shoved into his mouth that he seems to love the taste of, by saying, “As far as I know 30 Rock is back next year. But all things must pass. New shows. New People.”

Quick interjection, people: Yup, I’m sure we’re all aware of the cycle of life. We all saw Lion King. But how many of us announce “the end” when it is still eons away, supposedly?

He then shifts the blame and focus onto Tina Fey (well played, Baldwin Boy, well played) by prompting his audience to consider all the wonderful things Tina will after 30 Rock. “People need new things creatively…sometimes, they need to do nothing at all.”

In the mean time, while Alec Baldwin inches a bit closer to the unemployment line, he may be considering a career in politics as hinted with his interview with Bloomberg Television. Future Mayor of New York City? Could be. For now, the show surges on.

Shows to Catch in the 2012 Winter Mid-Season TV Schedule

We aren’t through the holidays yet (don’t forget New Years!) But, trust me, I’m already getting set for the upcoming 2012 TV Schedule…and I don’t know about you, but while we are all recovering from the holidays and the lack of three (or four) day weekends until Memorial Day, a healthy dose of some new shows always does me good.

So, what should you be watching this season?

Oprah’s Next Chapter (OWN Network; Premieres January 1st, New Years Day)

Hmmmm…anyone else beginning to wonder about that whole, you know, Oprah farewell deal? Yah, me too. I was really beginning to wonder if Oprah could stay off television for…well, ever. And you know what? She can’t! And her new show, Oprah’s Next Chapter premieres on New Year’s Day where she interviews Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.

Anyone else winning a bet among friends on whether Oprah would actually return back to television? Yup, me too.

Oprah’s new show will feature her traveling around the country to interview public figures and celebrities…and you know what? I wish her the best on the new show, and I am sooo planning on watching this.

Luck (HBO, Premieres January 29th)

Okay, really, I’ve never been that much into horse tv shows or movies. Really. I didn’t even buy “My Little Pony” as a little girl.

BUT, with that said, I’m really looking forward to HBO’s newest show, Luck. Why? The top notch cast of course – Dustin Hoffman, Richard Kind, Nick Nolte…wow, right? It follows along the lives of people who are going to the same horse racing track…and really, anything that features Dustin Hoffman will have me interested.

The Firm (NBC, Premieres January 8th)

I loved the book. I loved the movie (featuring one of my many celebrity crushes, Tom Cruise). And I’m planning on lovin’ the new show.

And apparently this isn’t just a recreation of the movie (which…I really hated the idea of), but it’s catching up with the character Mitchell McDeere ten years after the setting of the film (remember TV Watchers, that ending seen where he drives back home to go with a firm that is small, but with a “lot of potential?”

Now, they are emerging from the witness protection program, and ah, I just can’t wait. And you know who plays Mitchell McDeere? Josh Lucus. And he’s so, soo hot.

House of Lies (Showtime, Premieres January 8th)

I will be very busy this January premiere season making sure that I’m not missing a beat when it comes to the new shows. House of Lies features a consulting firm, where Don Cheadle is a consultant who will do anything to get his way (and his clients’ way). And you know? I think Showtime is really pulling out all the stops for the show…not only do they have a website for the consulting firm, but they also have an app almost ready to go.

Freakin’ show hasn’t even premiered yet. Although, you can catch the first episode on Showtime’s website, and maybe you can decide if all this effort will be worth it. It will definitely be a show that I will catch this upcoming season.

Smash (NBC, Premieres February 6th)

Did you love the movie Chicago? Do you love Glee? If you answered yes to both of those questions…than the show Smash is for you. This show takes you behind the scenes of a musical and two hopefuls wanting the lead of Marilyn. It features that charming acting of Katharine McPhee, the great hair of Debra Messing (sorry, I do love her hair), and aggresive character of Megan Hilty. I’m pumped for it already, tv watchers!

It premieres after some football game that’s supposed to be a big deal. Oh, the superbowl I think (I kid, I kid…don’t freak out).

Alright TV Watchers, these are the few new shows I will be catching this season. What other shows are you looking forward too?

VIP EXCLUSIVE: “Whitney”‘s Whitney Cummings and Chris D’Elia interview

They go together like peanut butter and jelly. He is the yin to her yang. He’s the socks to her sandals…or not really, but for some people…yeah…whatever…you get the picture. Whitney’s Whitney Cummings and Chris D’Elia, both stand-up comedians, are capturing the attention of viewers (and NBC network execs) with their undeniable chemistry and will get the chance at a full season of “Whitney” to show off what they’ve got. And from what I hear, Cummings, executive producer and creator of the show, has a lot more sassy (but clean) material to bring to the table. The show brings a whole new edge to NBC’s already strong fall lineup and I knew I’d love this girl considering she is a pal of one of my faves Chelsea Handler.

Danity had the chance to chat with Cummings and D’Elia about the relief of their full season pickup, their move from stage to the small screen and how Chris landed his co-star gig alongside Whitney. In one of Celebrity VIP’s most hilarious interviews yet, Danity is lucky to get her questions in between the couple’s rants. There were too many fab quotes for me to highlight, so you’ll have to check out the ENTIRE interview below.
