Nicki Minaj Will Host the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards

Nicki Minaj just keeps on winning! The rapper is set to host  the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards!

“I will not only perform, but I have the honorable task of HOSTING this year’s #MTVEMA!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!,” Minaj tweeted to her more than 18 million followers, posting a pic on Instagram as well.

Nicki is nominated for four awards for Best Female, Hip-Hop, Biggest Fans, and Best Look. One that I will definitely give her is Best Look because she has made a complete 180 from her Pink Friday days! She looks normal, instead of just a character.

This is definitely a good look for her, and says a lot about her impact. Even though some still take offense to her, especially recently with the sexual “Anaconda” song and video, she still is about her business and continues to grow as an artist and businesswoman. Congrats to her!

The 2014 MTV EMA’s will take place in Glasgow, with a live pre-show telecast anchored in Miami on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.

Ciara Appears on MTV’s House of Style, Reportedly Calls Off Engagement to Future

Ciara has been steadily working on her comeback after giving birth to son Future with rapper Future just three months ago. She’s been working on some new music for her fans, and was recently spotted making an appearance on MTV’s resurrected show House of Style.

The singer wore Hood By Air apparel with Balmain sneakers. This is her first television appearance since the baby, and she’s looking good! She captioned a photo on Instagram:

2Day Was A Good Day. #CCMTVHouseOfStyle Coming Soon. I’m Gonna #DoMore Baby!:) #Zonin. Xo

Sadly though, it’s being reported that she and Future have ended their engagement, due to some infidelity on Future’s part. “He cheated on her. Game over,” a source said to Us Weekly of the rapper. Another source added: “She’s devastated. Ciara’s focus now is the baby.”

Neither one has actually spoken out on this, nor any of their reps, so it’s just an Internet rumor for now. However, if it’s true, it’s really sad since they have a child together. Hopefully, they’ll be able to work out their issues, or, if not, find a way to best co-parent for the sake of their son.

Beyoncé Will Receive MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award

It’s been rumored for quite some time that Beyoncé would be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards this year. However, according to The Wrap, MTV has confirmed that the star will also be receiving a nice award for her hard work!

Bey is set to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, when the award show airs live from the Forum in Inglewood, California, on Sunday, Aug. 24. In addition to this award, the singer snagged eight nominations, including two of the top nods, Best Female, and Video of the Year.

The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award is much like a Lifetime Achievement award of sorts, honoring artists that have been put in the work and time on their music and visuals. The award was renamed for the legendary King of Pop back in 1991. Michael was one of several stars that took home the award for their work. Other recipients of the award include Madonna, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

Obviously, as a dedicated member of the Beyhive, I’m very happy that Bey is not only performing live, but is getting an award for all that she’s done so far. She’s been in the industry for quite a while now, and is definitely deserving. I’m excited to see what she brings to the show come August 24! Is it too much to hope for another Destiny’s Child mini-reunion???

Jenni ‘JWOWW’ Farley Gives Birth to a Baby Girl

Make room for another guidette! Jersey Shore alum Jenni “JWOWW” Farley and her fiance Roger Mathews welcomed their first child, a girl, into the world on Sunday, July 13!

“Jenni and Roger are so excited to welcome the newest guidette Meilani Alexandra Mathews to the world weighing 7 lbs., 13 oz.,” Jenni’s rep told MTV News. “Meilani and her parents are doing great and are happy and healthy. Meilani is already looking to trade her baby bottle for barbells.”

MTV also congratulated the couple, saying in a statement: “We’re fist pumping in celebration of Jenni “JWOWW” Farley and Roger Mathews’ new baby girl Meilani Alexandra Mathews. We’re so excited for the new parents and to welcome the newest member to the MTV family.”

Roger announced to his Twitter followers that his baby girl had finally arrived, saying,

The new parents announced that they were expecting a baby last Christmas, revealing shortly after that they were having a girl. And even though Jenni didn’t have the best pregnancy (she called it “the worst thing ever“), the reality star had her best friend Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, also of Jersey Shore fame and her co-star on Snooki & JWOWW, along for the ride. “She’s always been by my side, and then to find out that she’s pregnant, this made me feel a thousand times better, ’cause I get to experience this with her,” Jenni said in a previous interview with MTV News. Snooki herself is expecting another baby, a girl as well, with her fiance Jionni LaValle.

I am in love the baby’s name! Sounds beautiful and elegant, almost like she’s royalty. Princess of the guidettes I guess! Anyway, congrats to Jenni, Roger, and their families!

Chelsea Houska Shows Off Her Bikini Bod on Instagram

Adam who? Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea Houska shows off her bikini bod and yowzah! Meanwhile, Chelsea’s ex (and baby daddy) Adam Lind is still locked up. Eat your heart out, Adam. Take a look at the selfie below, posted with the caption: “Haven’t had a Sunday fun day in a looong a* time.”

Screen Shot 2014-06-30 at 7.05.56 PM Screen Shot 2014-06-30 at 7.06.07 PM

Chelsea is mom to Aubree (4) and had no problems taking to instagram to show off her tight tummy . And I gotta say, I wouldn’t have a problem with it either if I were in the business of taking selfies.

As you can see she’s flipping off the camera and sporting some serious duck face, but hey— maybe that bird is directed at the haters. (Does she have haters? I’m so lost on the Teen Mom 2 non-Janell drama. Heck, I’m lost on Janelle drama too. Pft.)

Anyway, Chelsea hit the pool with her bestie Chelsey (same name, different spelling: take note) in the pool she has at the house she lives in with Aubree in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She later posted another pic where she’s chill axing in a raft.

And if you’re wondering how Chelsea got that slim tummy, she works for it. As RadarOnline reports, last year, she vowed that she would get fit and she did. Now, she goes to the gym 4-5 times a week and does group classes, cardio and weight lifting. And, of course, now she loves fruits and veggies instead of pizza.

Oh well, for a second I thought I might follow suit, but you lost me at gym 4-5 times a week and no pizza. If I’m hitting the gym that much, I’mma need some pizza.

MTV Is Bringing Back TRL for One Night, Featuring Ariana Grande

One night only! In a 30 minute special, MTV is bringing back the now defunct music video countdown show Total Request Live (TRL) only for one day.

The network announced that it will feature the 30-minute special with Ariana Grande, renaming it Total Ariana Live. The special is set to air July 2 at 7 p.m. ET, and will be available on demand after the broadcast.

Total Ariana Live will be seen live from MTV’s Time Square studio, with Sway Calloway serving as host. Ariana, who just turned 21 today (Happy birthday girl!), will perform her hit song, “Problem,” as well as debut her upcoming single, “Break Free.” The singer will also be tested of her hip-hop knowledge in a “Hip Hop Mix Up” game. MTV also promises that there will be a surprise announcement (maybe the actual return of TRL?! Or is that wishful thinking?).

“It’s a huge honor to be able to bring back a show like ‘TRL,’ I used to love watching it growing up. Can’t wait to celebrate with my loves in Times Square. Might have some surprises too,” Ariana said in a statement. “Only one artist has the power to turn the lights back on at 1515 Broadway in the iconic ‘TRL’ studios, and that’s Ariana Grande. The transformation to ‘Total Ariana Live’ represents her one-of-a-kind star power combined with MTV’s immense multimedia platform, setting the stage for the ultimate global partnership,” said Charlie Walk, executive vp Republic Records, to which Ariana is signed.

The original TRL ran from 1998-2008, airing 2,247 episodes during its run. Back when MTV was known more for music than reality TV, the show aired the top 10 most-requested music videos for viewers, and featured awesome interviews with top artists, actors, and more!

I really think that MTV ought to bring this show back! It is, however, great promotion for Ariana, whose sophomore album is in the works. To be featured on something like this with all eyes on you is definitely a good look!

Madonna Will Perform with Miley Cyrus On MTV Unplugged

The reports are true! Madonna will be seen in a special performance with Miley Cyrus on MTV Unplugged!

The pop legend herself will join Miley on the special that airs tonight, January 29 at 9 p.m. ET on MTV, as they sing a mashup of Madonna’s “Don’t Tell Me,” and Miley’s own hit “We Can’t Stop.” The entire special has a country-western theme, as Miley gets back to her Tennessee roots. And yes, Madonna laces up her cowgirl boots too!

The performance was recorded just last night, and according to E!, there was a lot of bumpin’ and grindin’ between the two stars! Miley even got a playful butt slap in! “That was pretty f–king cool, you guys,” Miley said of the performance. “It sounds super-lame, but as a pop star it’s pretty cool performing with Madonna…Today was one of those days that it was really easy to get out of bed.”

Well, I have to give it to Miley. She has certainly managed to keep people talking over the past year! And now, to have Madonna doing a performance with you?! This is one hoedown I might have to check out. I’m just curious to see how this is really going to come together!

Miley Cyrus Channels Lil’ Kim

It’s Halloween, folks. The one day out of the year where any woman can be as big a ho as she wants and no one can judge her. But if you’re a pop star, being a famewhore is a daily part of your routine. So when Miley Cyrus decided to dress up this year, she of course had to think of something to possibly top her MTV performance.

Enter MTV from the last century.
Enter Lil’ Kim.
Enter chesticles on display!

If you thought Miley Cyrus was going to surprise us all and cover up and be a nun on Halloween, think again. The 20-year-old shocked no one by going back in time to steal Lil’ Kim’s look from another notorious MTV broadcast. If Kim Kardashian’s ass selfie was the last one of importance, Miley has just replaced it with her own, including the infamous purple pasty.

We think this is the most clothes Miley has worn in several months, so it’s quite possibly an improvement.

What say ye, folks?

These two singer-songwriters have earned their chops playing for clubs and festivals in and around the New York area over the last few years. But it was not until 2010 that The Como Brothers Band began in earnest to pursue their musical dreams and in quick succession they are coming true.

With their album release set for October 1st, the duo have already given their fans something to satiate their appetites in the interim. ESQUILLE: ‘Rock This Club Down’

Fans of electronic dance music know his name and for those that don’t, they’ve heard his music. Internationally known for his projects, remixes, and stellar collaborations, Swedish EDM producer ESQUILLE has spent many years in the music business making a name for himself worldwide. His name has been plastered on a myriad of projects including, but not limited to Dreamland, Jam Planet, and A Trip in Trance to name a few.

Now, after a self-imposed exile from the music scene, he’s back with more music to churn out for his large fan base. His worldwide hit smash dance single, ‘I Take U Higher’, has yet again placed his names on the lips of clubs and dance floors all of the world. His next single, ‘HEYO’ (featured on MTV’s ‘The Challenge’ )has been remixed and re-distributed for the clubs and the radio station and is still gaining momentum on the charts. Not one to rest on his laurels, the producer is set to release his very first EP later this month entitled ‘Rock This Club Down’. The title and lead-off single from the EP is a club banger that is guaranteed to extend his streak of hit club singles.

VIP RISING STAR: Aurganic: Deviations

The duo Aurganic is threatening to get in your ear, and if their latest release is any indication, they’re going to be creating quite the buzz.

Deviations melds their earlier influences in various genres, particularly punk, alt rock and jazz, as the duo layer their sound with guest vocals from a few singers – Joel Goguen, Scott Carruthers, and Jessica Stuart. Standout tracks include tracks ‘The Lost and Found’ and ‘Paradigm’. Another song that will keep listeners aurally engaged is ‘Easy’, which takes Stuart’s cool soul and jazz vocals and places them over electric instrumentals. The lead-off single off this sophomore album, ‘Choices’, features the vocals of Joel Goguen weaving his way through dub step and electronica. The accompanying video to the song plays on the philosophy of how our choices end up dictating our lives. Even with the addition of guest vocalists, it cannot be denied that the songwriting and production values on this latest CD are well worth a listen.

Although they’ve come a long way since walking the halls of the same high school, it is easy to see that their divergent paths came back together in just the right measurements of musicality. Since 2010, Leo Pisaq and Michael Kossov have been creating music together that cultivates a new experimental sound that complements all of their musical talents. Through a shared love of composition and songwriting, this duo have united together years later to produce a sound that merges electronica, alt rock and jazz – this follow-up to the well received Life as a Canvas in 2012. They have continued on their musical journey on this latest album and the result is something that cannot be pigeonholed into any one genre and that is ultimately by design. Fans interested in something a bit left of the middle will ultimately enjoy this collection of collaborations.

Leo Pisaq: Synthesizers, Keyboard, Guitar, Programming, Engineering
Michael Kossov: Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Programming

VJ Kennedy: Michael Jordan Tried to Take My V-Card

Back in the mid-90s, MTV VJ Kennedy was a household name, music didn’t suck yet, and Michael Jordan was the king of sports. No one was denying him anything.

No one except Kennedy, that is.

Or so she claims in her new book, ‘The Kennedy Chroniclesjordan3f-3-web‘ , which details a scene she shared with His Airness and Russell Simmons at Bowery Bar in NYC over some dice and a little side bet.

In her book, MJ decided to place stakes on their dice games and finally decided that if he won, Kennedy would have to return to his hotel room with him. Kennedy, still a virgin, claims that she was scared of the NBA star’s more than likely massive member and so backed out of the game.

As it turns out, she won the game and her V-card was never truly in jeopardy. But after reading this, alot of women will probably want to slap Kennedy back into common sense areas. How many women would turn down MJ?
