Michael Jordan is pulling Michael Jackson on this one. I can just picture him singing, “the kid is not my son”….
Well, after Atlanta woman Pamela Y. Smith sent out a lawsuit saying she wanted some payment for her 16-year-old son claiming the kid is a result of a love making session with the NBA legend. Yeah, she just came out SIXTEEN years later saying that this kid is his. Hello?! Red flag!
So here’s the deal, after this lawsuit came out, Jordan has come out in a big say saying that this paternity suit is ridiculous (but in more professional words).
His official statement was released through his publicist, “Public records show that the paternity of the child was established in a prior case in this same court many years ago and that Michael Jordan is not the father. He also filed a counterclaim seeking sanctions for the false claims made against him. It is unfortunate that well-known figures are the target of these kind of claims. Michael Jordan will vigorously defend himself and his reputation.”
Jordan is saying that Smith’s suit is a “shameless, bad faith attempt to abuse the legal system.”
Not only is this chick requesting that Jordan take a paternity test and pay child support, she is requesting that the boy’s last name be changed to Jordan on a newly issued birth certificate no less!
Her publicist (yes, she has one) is saying Jordan is his father and that he (the son) wants him to play a larger role in his life.
“Pamela had no choice but to support her son and his desire to forge a relationship with his father,” Smith’s publicist, April Love, said in a statement Friday. “That’s why she is now speaking out and prompting Michael to do the right thing.”
