Madame Tussauds Vegas Unveils New Whitney Houston Wax Figure

How freakin’ cool is this?!

Earlier this morning (Monday, February 11), Madame Tussauds Las Vegas unveiled a wax figure of singer, actress and producer Whitney Houston.

The first single from Houston’s second studio album was titled “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” and earned the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 30th Grammy Awards in 1988. The song’s accompanying video became one of Houston’s best recognized music videos and ran in heavy rotation on MTV, VH1, and BET. At Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, Houston’s wax figure will be styled in the same way she appeared in the video, wearing a tight purple-pink tank dress and blonde curly hair.

“We are excited for one of Whitney’s four amazing figures to reside in our music room here in Las Vegas alongside other music legends,” remarked Madame Tussauds Las Vegas General Manager Rosita Chapman.

I absolutely LOVE this! So cool and what a great way to honor the late, great. Miss and love you Whitney!

Madame Tussauds Makes Wax Figures in Honor of Whitney Houston

February 11 will mark a year since we lost singing legend Whitney Houston. In honor of her memory, legendary wax museum Madame Tussauds has honored Whitney with four wax figures.

This is the first time in 200 years that the museum has simultaneously created this many different figures of the same person! While made in London, each of the figures will be in different museums across the United States.

The figures represent four very iconic moments in Whitney’s career–her performance of the National Anthem at the 1991 Super Bowl to be featured in the Washington D.C. museum; her 1992 movie The Bodyguard which will be in Hollywood; Houston will display a young Whitney from her 1988 video for “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)”; and New York will exhibit the singer in her final years, from her 2009 photo shoot for her last album, I Look To You.

All of them simply look incredible. Nothing less than the best from Madame Tussauds! RIP Whitney.

Sandra Bullock Gets Waxed

Sandra Bullock figure unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas, NV

Earlier today (Thursday, Jan. 24) at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, Extra TV sweetheart Adrianna Costa unveiled a wax figure of Sandra Bullock because you know, it’s about freakin’ time this woman gets waxed! Wax on, wax off baby cakes!

The figure is the first of Bullock be added to the Madame Tussauds estate. A vision in red, Bullock is red carpet ready, holding a clutch and wearing an elegant knee-length dress.

“There’s something about Sandra Bullock that leaves me in awe,” remarked Costa. “She has won numerous awards, yet manages to stay humble. Her talent, charming personality and dedication to charity is incredible, and makes her an inspiration to us all.”

Very true and what better way than to mold her into a lifelike wax figure. I have a sneaking suspicion that Sandy’s biker ex Jesse James will never get the wax honor.

Rihanna Wax Work Unveiled at Madame Tussauds London

Rihanna has a doppelganger that looks a tad on the conservative side then what we are used to as of late with RiRi and her provocative self. Madame Tussauds unveiled a very cheeky RiRi, exposing a tad of her booty with their wax figure. But seriously, is it really that controversial? Girlfriend has been prancing around in onesies and two sizes too small leotards.

This particular outfit that hugs RiRi’s waxed boy is the same one that she wore when she performed on X Factor last year.

Check out the wax below.
