Celebrity Gossip Heard All Over The Web

Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Joe and Teresa Giudice Sentenced to Jail for Fraud

It’s official…both Joe and Teresa Giudice are headed to prison. The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars have both been sentenced to jail for bankruptcy, bank, and mortgage fraud charges!

The couple did plead guilty to the charges, and were apologetic for their actions. However, Judge Esther Salas laid down the law, giving them both jail time. The U.S. District Court Judge ruled that Joe would serve 41 months (a little over three years) in prison, have two years of supervised probation, and have to pay $414,588 in restitution while Teresa was given 15 months behind bars. Because she has the lesser time, Teresa will serve her sentence first, and is required to surrender to authorities on January 5, 2015. That way, either Joe or Teresa will be around to take care of their four children. However, it is possible that Joe will be deported back to his home country Italy.

According to Deadline, Joe and Teresa will appear on a special Watch What Happens Live: One-on-One with Teresa and Joe with Andy Cohen on Bravo on October 6 at 9 PM to discuss their sentencing.

I can’t say I feel bad for them that much. You do the crime, you have to do the time. However, I feel bad for their kids having to see their parents go through all this, knowing that they will both be going to prison. Hopefully, Joe and Teresa have both learned from this, and will come out stronger and smarter people.

Amanda Bynes Arrested for Allegedly Being Under the Influence

Oh no. Looks like Amanda Bynes was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence!

The actress was arrested on Sunday morning with the California Highway Patrol West Valley Office determining that she was indeed on something while behind the wheel, though the substance hasn’t been revealed yet. “Amanda was displaying symptoms that led us to believe she may have been under the influence of a stimulant,” a CHP spokesperson told E! News. “It possibly could be a combination of a stimulant and other drugs. We do not know.”

Amanda was released on $15,000 bail, but this is definitely not over yet. Because she is still in the middle of her three-year probation from a DUI back in 2012, it’s possible that she might have to spend some time behind bars. “As far as the criminal case is concerned, she is facing the real possibility of jail time,” criminal defense attorney Troy Slaten said to E! “If she is convicted of a second-offense DUI, the law requires a minimum of 96 hours (or four days) of jail.” (Slaten has never represented the actress, but just gave some legal opinion on the situation to the media outlet).

After a six month treatment program last year, Amanda seemed to be doing well, moving in with her parents and look healthy! She apparently moved out several months ago, but was attending school at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Irvine, CA. tyra

I’m just….disappointed. I was literally thinking about her the other day, and was happy that she was staying on the right path, and then this. Amanda has so much talent, and I hate to see her revert back to her old ways! Hopefully, she gets it back together.

Robin Thicke Admitted in Deposition to Being High While Recording “Blurred Lines”

Wow. In a deposition back in April, Robin Thicke admitted to lying to the media and being high when he recorded his hit “Blurred Lines.”

The Hollywood Reporter obtained a copy of the transcript of the deposition, which was Robin’s defense against the family of legendary singer Marvin Gaye, who filed a lawsuit against Robin, along with Pharrell Williams (who wrote the song), accusing them of stealing Marvin’s classic “Got To Give It Up,” for “Blurred Lines.”

According to the transcript, Robin admitted under oath that it was actually Pharrell who wrote the song. “I was jealous and I wanted some of the credit,” he said. “I tried to take credit for it later because [Williams] wrote the whole thing pretty much by himself and I was envious of that.” He was asked if he was present while Pharrell made the track, and that’s when Robin admitted that he was completely gone anyway. “To be honest, that’s the only part where — I was high on Vicodin and alcohol when I showed up at the studio,” the singer recollected. “So my recollection is when we made the song, I thought I wanted…to be more involved than I actually was by the time, nine months later, it became a huge hit and I wanted credit. So I started kind of convincing myself that I was a little more part of it than I was …I wanted some credit for this big hit. But the reality is, is that Pharrell had the beat and he wrote almost every single part of the song.” Robin also admitted to being high while doing press throughout 2013, but had since given up Vicodin, though not alcohol.

Robin’s defense has spoken out on the transcript being released. “Robin’s moment of personal vulnerability is being exploited in the hope of diverting attention from the obvious weakness of their legal claim,” Howard King, attorney, managing partner of King, Holmes, Paterno & Berliner, said to Us Weekly.

It’s crazy. Just last year Robin seemed to be on top of the world, and it’s almost like his life is just spiraling down hill. He lost his wife, he’s being sued, and now we find out that he was trying to mask his pain behind drugs and alcohol. It’s really sad. I’m hoping that he is able to bounce back.

Chris Brown Pleads Guilty to Assault

Chris Brown pleaded guilty today to misdemeanor assault, and was sentenced to time served. He only spent two days in a D.C. jail.

The assault occurred back in October, when Chris allegedly hit a man after he tried to get in a picture Chris was taking with two women. The singer was soon arrested, though he previously pleaded not guilty in the case.

Chris’ attorney, Danny Onorato, fought hard for Chris, saying that he had already been punished enough, reminding the court of the time the singer already spent in Jail and four months he spent receiving inpatient counseling. “To say that he’s been punished severely in this matter is an understatement,” Onorato said. Chris’ career has been on hold for almost a year, and he wanted to get back to work, putting this case behind him.

After his hearing, Chris only said: “I would like to say to the court that I’m sorry.”

I REALLY hope that Chris gets his act together. I’d rather hear about his music and career, versus dumb mistakes he makes off of anger.

Former Destiny’s Child Member Farrah Franklin Arrested for Disorderly Conduct

Songbird turned jailbird! Farrah Franklin, best known for her very short stint alongside Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams in Destiny’s Child, was arrested for disorderly conduct on Sunday, July 20 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, according to TMZ.

NFL players Da’Quan Bowers and Ricky Sapp went out with Farrah on the beach on Saturday night, and apparently, when they got back to Ricky’s house, Farrah was reportedly wasted and got very crazy! The men eventually called police due to her antics, saying that they thought the former singer might be involved with drugs since she would go to the bathroom for long periods of time. Farrah was found lying down in the front yard of a neighbor, claiming she was going to sleep in the woods. It was reported that police described her as “highly intoxicated,” but said she denied using drugs.

Farrah appeared in Destiny’s Child for five months back in 2000. She, along with Michelle, replaced LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson, but was fired from the group shortly after. Of course, DC continued on as a trio before disbanding in 2006.

“We have to say that Farrah was not kicked out of Destiny’s Child,” Beyonce said on Total Request Live at the time. “She actually did not show up for three major promotional events, one of which was ‘MTV All Access.’ She walked out on [that], and the KUBE Summer Jam was another one in Seattle. You’ll all see that on the [‘All Access’] show. We also had a five-day promotional tour in Australia, which was our first visit there and very important, and she didn’t come. So we all agreed that Farrah and Destiny’s Child should part ways, and we wish her the best in the future. But it wasn’t a management decision, it was a group decision.”

Sad to see Farrah in such disarray! I’m not sure what she’s up to now, but hopefully she gets herself back on track soon.

RHOA’s Apollo Nida Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison for Theft and Fraud

Sentencing day went down today for the Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Apollo Nida, and the odds did not come out in his favor.

Apollo was arrested earlier in the year for identity theft and bank fraud, faking companies and taking people’s money and falsely cashing checks, which cost these folks a total of $2 million! Well today, the federal court put down the law, and sentenced Apollo to eight years in prison for his scheme, which occurred from 2009-2013, literally the entire time he’s been on the show!

Apollo admitted to his actions back in May, saying that he only did it to keep up with wife Phaedra Parks‘own income and lifestyle that was seen on the show. “I got sucked in and engulfed and lost sight of things,” he said. Phaedra was not present during the hearing.

This isn’t Apollo’s first time behind bars. He spent six years in jail, from around 2003 to 2009, for being a part of a car-theft operation. Shame he didn’t learn his lesson the first time!

I’m honestly not surprised that Phaedra wasn’t in court. And I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if she divorced him. EIGHT YEARS?! There’s a possibility of him getting out early for good behavior, but he’s going to be away from his family for a long time. Seems to me like this was merely a pride thing. He was intimidated by Phaedra and how much she makes, that, instead of finding an honest, legitimate way to make money and provide for his family, he does this. Might seem harsh, but I think it’s selfish, and I don’t feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for Phaedra and their two sons, who are toddler age, and have to deal with their father being away.

Amanda Bynes Bong Throwing Charges Dismissed

Congrats to the one and only Amanda Bynes on having a bit of a good news day. Why? Because Amanda Bynes has charges dismissed by a judge in connection with that NYC marijuana bust.

TMZ predicted the outcome, which was pretty obvious providing (of course) Amanda not get in any more trouble for about 6 months. And she did, and now she’s reaping the rewards of a few less charges on her record. Huzzah!

If you don’t remember- the charge in question supposedly occurred when Bynes threw a bong out the window of her apartment in NYC after the cops followed up on complaints from her neighbors that she’d been acting crazy and smoking weed.

At that time, Bynes was charred with evidence tampering, reckless endangerment and marijuana possession.

Last January, Bynes was told that all would be well if she kept her nose clean, so to speak. Her lawyer spoke with TMZ and said that she’d met all conditions (read: stayed out of any trouble) and that the judge commended her on the way she’s behaved recently- formal dismissing all charges and sealing the file.

Shia LaBeouf Arrested After Disorderly Conduct at Broadway Show

More trouble for Shia LaBeouf! Turns out the actor was really rowdy at a Broadway show in New York City, eventually getting handcuffed, escorted out, and charged with disorderly conduct!

Shia was reportedly disruptive during a production of Cabaret in the city on June 26. A source at the show said he was “harassing audience members, harassing actors on the stage, and chain smoking inside the theater,” during the first act. “Shia seemed out of sorts,” another source said. “He was interacting with strangers during the show and slapping peoples’ backsides. He was trying to avoid the police and fell. Then he was cursing at the police while being taken into custody.” His misbehavior got him escorted out by NYPD during intermission. Sadly, I can see this whole scene so clearly in my head.

According to Broadway World, bystanders on the street where Shia left say the actor was “in tears when taken away by police.”

An NYPD spokesperson later told Us Weekly that Shia “has been charged with disorderly conduct. He was also charged with criminal trespass. While at Studio 54 he was upsetting patrons, being loud and yelling. He’ll be jailed. There will be a court appearance for this matter.”

Who does this?! I feel bad, but then again I don’t. It’s obvious that something is going on with him, and he needs to work it out. To me, Shia has always been talented (and cute when he’s cleaned up), and I hate that another actor’s talent is seeming to go down the drain. Hopefully, he gets himself together soon! I’m not sure what’s going to happen now that he’s officially been charged. He might just get off, but who knows? Maybe some jail time will straighten him out a little bit.

Alec Baldwin Arrested in NYC

Alec Baldwin was arrested in NYC, y’all.

Okay, so “detained” is probably the better word, but arrested feels so much more epic. And that’s what Alec calls it in his series of tweets related to the incident. It’s actually still pretty epic. Epic in its stupidness. Yes, stupidness. Absurdity as well, maybe? Epic nonetheless, but I digress.

Okay, so first thing’s first- Alec was riding his bicycle the wrong way down the street. Why was he riding his bicycle? For exercise, of course. Why was he riding his bicycle the wrong way? Because, that’s why.

I’ll give him credit, my parents told me to go against traffic, so maybe he doesn’t get out and about on the ol’ bike and isn’t aware of all the rules that are obviously in place to cause problems for him and have nothing at all to do with bicycle safety.

But this isn’t even the funny part. What is the funny part? No, it’s not that he was none too thrilled to be stopped by police and ticketed. That went over as well as you’d think. And so he was cited for disorderly conduct.

The funny part is that he was taken “downtown” because he didn’t have any ID on him. And, well, the NYPD needed to verify his identity before letting him go.

Obviously, he wasn’t too happy about that one either, but he did take to Twitter to give his side of the story and tell the world about what went down. Why? Because that’s how the Alec Baldwin do.

The-Dream Arrested on Alleged Assault

Looks like The-Dream is facing some serious legal issues! The singer-producer apparently turned himself in to New York City police today, reportedly been charged with two felonies for an alleged assault on Lydia Nam, the mother of one of his children.

According to TMZthe attack reportedly took place in April 2013, but Nam didn’t report to the police about the incident until last November (A little mysterious…). Last week, it was reported that Dream was wanted by police for questioning.

The charges included assault and strangulation, as well as reckless endangerment and child endangerment. Nam claims that Dream punched, kicked and strangled her while she was still pregnant with their son. That brings the baby’s life into the forefront, and will definitely be taken into consideration if this goes to trial.

No direct word from The-Dream or anyone on his team as of yet, but he is reportedly still in custody. Sources close to him claim that the charges are “bogus.”

If this indeed is true, Dream could be facing some serious time. It’s possible though, unfortunately, as a celebrity, he could get off with something like this. Regardless, at the end of the day,  domestic abuse isn’t acceptable on either side, and, again if it’s true, he should face some type of real punishment, not just a slap on the wrist with probation and community service.

Chris Pine Pleads Guilty to DUI in New Zealand

Uh oh, looks like international trouble for Chris Pine! The actor has pleaded guilty to a DUI over in New Zealand.

Chris was pulled over by police early March 1, telling them that he had four vodka drinks. He had been celebrating the end of filming Z for Zachariah with the cast and crew of the film, as well as his girlfriend, Iriz Bjork Johannesdottir. When he was pulled over, his blood-alcohol content was at 0.11 percent, above the 0.08 legal limit. He had a hearing on Monday, as his lawyer entered a guilty plea in Ashburton District Court.

As punishment, the actor had his driver’s license in the country suspended for six months and got a small fine of $93, which equals to be $79 is U.S. dollars.

Drinking and driving doesn’t mix people! Lucky for Chris, it wasn’t too bad of a legal issue. He’ll be back in Los Angeles soon. He’s not a celebrity whose name is always in the headlines for trouble, so hopefully nothing like this happens again!

Da Brat Ordered to Pay $6.4 Million To Assault Victim

These celebrities need to think twice before they act out! Looks like rapper Da Brat is going to have to shell out a pretty hefty sum for an assault charge from 2007.

The rapper was charged with attacking former Atlanta Falcons cheerleader Shayla Stevens with a bottle inside an ATL nightclub back in 2007.  She served over 3 years in prison for the crime, but Shayla sued her in 2009.

The case was finally settled this week as a jury awarded Shayla $6.4 MILLION to cover her injuries and past and future loss of earnings!

Now I KNOW Da Brat doesn’t have that type of money! She’s a decent rapper, but her last full album was back in 2003! She’s been seen trying to make comebacks, but nothing substantial. Definitely not $6.4 million worth! So the real question is how in the world is this woman going to pay this money?!

Avatar’s Sam Worthington Arrested for Allegedly Punching Photographer

Don’t mess with a man’s girlfriend! Sam Worthington was arrested Sunday in NYC’s Greenwich Village after getting into a scuffle with photographer Sheng Li.

The actor, known for his lead role in Avatar, was reportedly defending his girlfriend, Lara Bingle, after Li supposedly kicked her in the shins!  The photographer was also arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, assault, and harassment.

This isn’t Sam’s first problem with the law as of late. Last November, he was arrested after a fight with a doorman at restaurant Vortex. After being refused entry, he reportedly pushed the guy. Charges were eventually dropped, though.

Here’s hoping after this that he can stay out of trouble!

REPORT: Kanye West Pays $250K Settlement To Alleged Beating Victim

Reportedly, Kanye West has agreed to pay a settlement to the teenager he allegedly beat up in a Beverly Hills chiropractor office earlier this month–a nice sum of $250,000.

The incident went down after the teen called Kim Kardashian a “n—-r lover,” while they were both in the waiting room, and threw out some other ugly comments about her. Kanye later popped up in the waiting room, and reportedly punched the guy in the face. TMZ reported that the teen agreed to the $250K settlement, though at first trying to get paid in the upper six figures. He won’t go forward with any prosecution against Kanye.

Now I’m sure to Kanye, $250K is chump change, but any money coming out of my pocket for foolishness like this would piss me off. If this situation happened exactly how it’s being reported, I really don’t blame Kanye for going after the guy. It’s just sad that people adamantly try to get him agitated and violent for a payout, but that’s celebrity life. Here’s hoping Kanye has a cooler head in the future…but then again it’s Kanye, so that’s a HUGE hope.

Justin Bieber Arrested on Drag Racing and DUI Charges

Surprise, surprise. Justin Bieber has had another run in with the law.

The singer was arrested early Thursday morning for drag racing and a DUI in Miami Beach. Justin was riding in a rented yellow Lamborghini at the time.

He was officially booked on charges of driving under the influence, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest “without violence”, according to police records. After his arrest, Justin apparently cursed out an officer, and admitted to having beer, pot and prescription drugs in his system, Miami Beach Police Chief Raymond Martinez told the Miami Herald.

After a short stint in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, Justin appeared before a judge for a bond hearing and bail was set at $2,500.

Justin….let’s have a little heart to heart. I seriously feel like Tyra Banks when she went off on that girl on America’s Next Top Model. I am, unashamedly, a little bit of a Belieber. So, as someone who has gotten weird stares for blasting “One Less Lonely Girl” in my car, I can say all this. GET. YOUR. LIFE. TOGETHER. If you keep going at the rate you’re going, you’re going to end up in a place that you sure as hell can’t handle. You were secluded in that jail cell, but let somebody actually get their hands on you!  This isn’t about your fans or your career. This is about you. You might need some serious rehab time, or, at least, some time alone, away from the cameras and the fame, to focus on getting yourself in a better place. Stop acting like a fool just because you’re legal and have money! Get some people on your team that aren’t afraid to sit you down and tell you off when you’re wrong! All of this was never cute. It was never funny. I can just see the comments now, but I actually believe you have talent, and you’re blowing it! Get it together.
