Kelly Clarkson’s Best Christmas Ever: Marriage, Baby, and a New Holiday Album

“My life did a 180—in the most awesome way.” That’s how singer Kelly Clarkson, 31, describes how husband Brandon Blackstock has changed her world. They started dating after seeing each other at the 2012 Super Bowl, and she married the divorced father of two on October 20th. And just this week, Clarkson revealed that she and Blackstock are expecting their first child together.

Via Parade.com:

On the details of her wedding, where she opted to go barefoot beneath her lace Temperley Bridal gown:
“I bawled like a baby. We both wrote our own vows, and it was hard to get through them, but I did it. … Brandon was like, ‘The Notebook ain’t got nothin’ on me—come on!’ And he took me out [on the lake] in a rowboat. It was very sweet. The whole thing was perfect.”

On her life prior to dating Blackstock in 2012:
“I was single for almost seven years. Every Christmas, it was like, ‘Seriously, I’m still pathetically alone? Awesome. I’m still telling people I’m okay with it? I’m not.’”

On forgetting the Mr. Know-It-All who came before she found Mr. Right:
“I only had like three boyfriends my whole life before Brandon, and two of them were good, just not a good fit. I only had one real stinker that I wrote [music about] and made a lot of money off of.”

On Blackstock’s initial worries about dating her, since his father, Narvel, is Clarkson’s manager:
“He was like, ‘My dad’s gonna kill me if this doesn’t go well.’ I said, ‘So? We’re both adults. And it’s gonna go awesome!’ In my head, I was like, ‘I’m already married to you!”

On how she knew she would be successful on American Idol in 2002:
“I came home after the very first Idol audition and was like, ‘I’m totally gonna win this.’ Not in a cocky way; it was like something bigger than me was at work.”

On her certainty that she’ll soon be a mom:
“My eggs aren’t getting any younger, so we’ve already started trying. I’m totally gonna have a girl. I’m manifesting it! And when I have a girl, you’re gonna be like, ‘That chick knew it!’”

On why she’s looking forward to getting pregnant:
“Everybody calls me fat all the time, so I can’t wait to have a reason, instead of everybody just being a jerk!”

On how she figures she’ll be immune to pressure to rapidly drop the baby weight:
“I’ve never been Gisele Bündchen, so ain’t nobody expectin’ that! I like to set a [low] standard so people don’t expect a lot.”

Kelly Clarkson’s new Christmas album, Wrapped in Red, features both classics and winning originals co-written by Clarkson. And while she confirms to Parade that she turned down an offer to return to Idol as a season 13 judge (she was on tour with Maroon 5 during the show’s summer auditions), she’s finishing up two albums, one “very soulful” country and one pop. Kelly Clarkson Is Pregnant!

Just last week, Kelly Clarkson told Jay Leno that “practice makes perfect” when it comes to getting pregnant. Well it worked! She and husband Brandon Blackstock are expecting their first child! “I’m pregnant!!!” the singer tweeted to her fans. “Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever.”

The couple were married almost a month ago on October 20, and it’s been no secret that Kelly wants to be a mom! “More than anything, next I want a baby. Lots of them!” she told Us Weekly before her wedding. “My record label is freaking out because all I can talk about now are babies. We’re really excited and want to get our family started.” She added: “I’m 31 and we’d like to do it the natural way. My eggs aren’t getting any younger! So we’re really excited.”

Brandon has two kids, Savannah and Seth from a previous relationship, and they were cool with them adding to their blended family. “We got the A-okay from them so we are ready to go. That’s definitely the next big project we’re going to start on,” Kelly said.

When Jay asked her if she was pregnant, Kelly avoided the question by telling him only that they weren’t “announcing anything right now” but were having sex “like rabbits” in the meantime.”[We want a baby] like now! Practice makes perfect!” she told him, laughing. “We do, we do. We’re trying, trying, trying. We have two kids, and they’re so great. And I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five.”

Aww congrats to her and Brandon! I’m sure they’ll make great parents!

Kelly Clarkson Sets The Record Straight on Her Rumored Miley Cyrus Slam

Kelly Clarkson wants to expand on that “pitchy strippers” comment she made while watching the MTV VMA’s.

Our friends at Extra TV gave us the scoop. “Extra’s” AJ Calloway sat down with Grammy-winning singer Kelly Clarkson on Thursday, where she set the record straight about her controversial “Pitchy Strippers” tweet surrounding the MTV VMA’s and her true feelings on Miley Cyrus.

Kelly making it clear, “Pitchy strippers… It was more me just being funny. I guess I saw about 6 performances from it (The VMA’s) and I was just being funny…Everybody says stuff and I didn’t even put names on it…People did not think it was funny. I did. That’s ok, I make myself laugh.”

AJ saying everyone associated Kelly’s “Pitchy Stippers” VMA tweet with Miley Cyrus’ performance, Kelly insisting, “That’s not my fault. I didn’t say any names… I’m not dragging anyone’s name in the mud. Everybody’s art is their art. I was just simply expressing my artistic point of view… Ain’t nothing wrong with being a stripper, maybe be on key… Be the best dang stripper you can be.”

As far as Kelly’s thoughts on Miley’s VMA performance and music, Kelly revealing, “My favorite is actually ‘Wrecking Ball.’ I love that song. That’s a killer song. And I just love the intimacy…” And as for Kelly’s review of Miley’s “SNL” performance, Kelly saying, “It’s outstanding. I love it. I love that song and she’s quite a singer.”

Clive Davis Responds To Kelly Clarkson’s Claims From Clive’s Book Claims

I know the title is so damn confusing, but trust me, this he-said she-said business can in fact get a little confusing for those parties not involved. I have always been told there is one side of the story, the other side of the story and then the truth. However, in this case I may have to lean a little closer to the Kelly Clarkson side simply because the other party is 80-some years old.

In case you need a little recap, go here and here. In a nutshell, Mr. Davis wrote a book and he apparently slams Kelly Clarkson which she claims are far-fetched. Kelly came out and warned everyone that Clive’s recollection of some of their moments together were imaginary, and now Clive is saying Kelly is lying.

Clive took to Twitter (because I guess he tweets?) to give his rebuttal, “As anyone who has read “The Soundtrack of My Life” knows, I think Kelly Clarkson is a tremendous vocal talent and performer. In the book, I provide an in-depth look at our years together during which we shared major multi-platinum success, as well as a few creative differences. I am truly very sorry that she has decided to take issue with what I know to be an accurate depiction of our time together. Before the book was published, I had every fact checked with five independent individuals who were present on a daily basis throughout it all. The chapter as it is written was thoroughly verified by each and every one of them. I stand by the chapter as written in my book. At the same time I wish, and will always wish, Kelly’s talent and her career to soar to ever new heights.

-Clive Davis”

All I know is that I hope Kelly leaves it at this now. All she is doing is giving peeps a reason to read his book.

Kelly Clarkson Defends Self Against Clive Davis’ Slams In Memoir

In his new book music industry big wig Clive Davis surely reveals a lot, including his bisexuality (yep, THAT happened) and he also throws some shade Kelly Clarkson’s way. And let’s just say that she isn’t having it. In fact, she took to the internet before peeps could read Davis’ claims. Check out what she had to say below.

“So I just heard Clive Davis is releasing a memoir and spreading false information about me and my music. I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans. It feels like a violation. Growing up is awesome because you learn you don’t have to cower to anyone – even Clive Davis.

First, he says I burst into “hysterical sobbing” in his office when he demanded Since You Been Gone be on my album. Not true at all. His stories and songs are mixed up. I did want more guitars added to the original demo and Clive did not. Max, Luke and I still fought for the bigger sound and we prevailed and I couldn’t be more proud of the life of that song. I resent him dampening that song in any way.

But, yes, I did cry in his office once. I cried after I played him a song I had written about my life called “Because Of You.” I cried because he hated it and told me verbatim that I was a “sh*tty writer who should be grateful for the gifts that he bestows upon me.” He continued on about how the song didn’t rhyme and how I should just shut up and sing. This was devastating coming from a man who I, as a young girl, considered a musical hero and was so honored to work with.
But I continued to fight for the song and the label relented. And it became a worldwide hit. He didn’t include that in the book.

He also goes on to say My December wasn’t successful because I co-penned the album and it didn’t have “pop hits”. Well, first let me say, I’ve co-penned many of my “pop hits.” Secondly, My December went platinum (It sold 20,000 less than All I Ever Wanted which followed My December.) Hardly a huge failure. Never Again, the ONLY single they released in the US from that record was a Top 10 hit. I am very proud of that and I have my fans to thank. But, again, what’s most interesting about his story is what he leaves out: He doesn’t mention how he stood up in front of his company at a convention and belittled me and my music and completely sabotaged the entire project. It never had a chance to reach it’s full potential. My December was an album I needed to make for myself for many reasons and the fact that I was so completely disregarded and disrespected was so disheartening, there really aren’t words to explain….

Anyway, I love my job. I love my music. I love my fans. I love my label and all of my professional relationships… now. And I am grateful for Clive for teaching me to know the difference.

Cheers to another amazing year! And, as always, thanks for listening!

Now I bet y’all are going to buy Clive’s book to read what he had to say about Kelly, right? Eye roll.

Kelly Clarkson Lost Some Big Time Poundage!

Kelly Clarkson has a noticeably thinner figure due to a significant weight loss. And girlfriend looks fab! But her drop in dress sizes isn’t do to QuickTrim, diet pills or any other gimmicks that are out there.

Did you all know that working out 5 days a week and controlling portions can help you lose weight?! Believe it or not!

Yep, that is how Kelly took off her pounds.

From what we hear though is that Kelly’s inspiration for losing the weight over the course of the last six months is her new man Brandon Blackstock and she “feels better about herself than she ever has.”

A source told Us Weekly that, “Brandon is the first guy ever who tells her how beautiful and sexy she is. She wants to look good for him.”

In other words, she wants to look damn good for her man. And good for her!

Apparently she says she has about 10 more pounds to take off and then she’ll be satisfied. So see there peeps? All it takes is getting off your duff and quit shoving your mouth full of donuts and pizza pockets too damn much.

It works! Get it girl!

ABC Gets New Show Duets

You know what I wished for on my last birthday? Another singing competition show.

I’m kidding.

But, in case that was your wish, it has been granted! ABC has just announced their upcoming singing competition called, “Duets.” It will star Kelly Clarkson, Lionel Richie, Robin Thicke, and Jennnifer Nettles.

And in case you have been obsessed with the latest episode of ”The Voice,’ you will probably remember that three of these four Duet judges made their appearance on the show. Coincidence? I think not.

So, how will this show differ from it’s rivals?

The judges will have to undergo a battery of challenges, one of which includes skydiving, eat cow brains, and going through a series of underground caves and tunnels.

Oh wait. Never mind. That would make the show…you know…interesting and not just a replica of the hundreds of other singing competitions out there. Or maybe just more like Fear Factor.

But the new show is attempting to breathe new life into the singing competition era, by having these four judges sing with the contestants that they seek out across the country. The judges will each find two singers and these singers will “perform wih the stars before a live audience and eventually just one pair will remain.”

Kelly Clarkson released a statement expressing her excitement and looks forward to helping these hopefuls “accomplish their dream” and “can’t wait to be a part of.”

Jennifer Nettles from the Sugerland has a little bit less experience in the singing competition field then Clarkson, but she is also happy to be a part of this new endeavor. Thinking back to her own ambitious younger self says, “To have had the opportunity to perform with an established artist would have been so incredible when I was up and coming.”

Well, this is all well and good, but can we really take another singing show? Probably. There are those of us who would consider these shows a guilty pleasure and couldn’t stand the idea of missing a single episode. (I’m not saying that it’s me…I’m just saying…)

So, television watchers, will you be watching ABC’s Duet’s this summer?

Kelly Clarkson Admits She Cheated With Teleprompter During National Anthem

When Kelly Clarkson performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, girlfriend nailed every single freakin’ note AND she remembered all the lyrics…unlike some people (ahem Christina). But get this, Kelly decided she wanted to “cheat” a little bit by using a lyric prompter so that she wouldn’t get skinned by the media if she accidentally flubbed.

And she even admitted that she begged her manager for a lyric prompter. She told The Bert Show, “I tried to cheat. I told my manager, ‘People are killing her (Aguilera)! Just have them up somewhere on video, we’ll make it look like it’s for the crowd!’ I felt so sorry for her – they killed her. Honestly, we’re human and how often do you sing that song? Never!”

But the teleprompter wasn’t exactly a lifesaver for Clarkson. She explained, “They didn’t do it right… I’d sing the line and it would come up with a delay. I was like, ‘Now it’s messing me up!’ so then I shut my eyes. You’d have thought the lyrics were on my eyelids, I had my eyes shut the whole time.”

I’d say she rocked it, teleprompter or not. I guess it’s best to be safe than get mutilated by the media!

Kelly Clarkson Belts Out National Anthem for Superbowl

Kelly Clarkson took on the National Anthem before last night’s Superbowl game between the NY Giants and the New England Patriots.

Kelly looked fierce, fab and classy wearing a LBD on top a mini blue and white stage at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. What better person to belt out the Anthem than the season one American Idol winner? Alongside her was a full marching band and crowd of children. Clarkson nailed each note and didn’t show any signs of nervousness, despite what she posted on her WhoSay account before her performance.

Clarkson posted on Friday, “Just finished rehearsing the anthem in Indy … wow, I’m actually really nervous about singing at the Super Bowl ha! Here’s hoping I nail it and don’t screw it up!”

And that she can be proud of because girlfriend was on point! Let me also add that Kelly’s new hairstyle is bangin’!

Check out a clip from Clarkson’s rendition of the National Anthem below.

Quote of the Day: Kelly Clarkson

“I realize God didn’t give me boobs cuz if I had them, I’d show them off. I’d be a slut.”

Kelly Clarkson, during her stripped down taping of Unplugged

Quote of the Day: Kelly Clarkson

I’m from a small town, so everyone’s married with children or about to have children. It’s a little hard when you go home and people are like – and that’s why people think I’m gay – because they’re like, ‘Why aren’t you married?’ And I’m like, ‘It doesn’t happen for everyone right off the bat!’ I think it’s my purpose, music. I might not want to do this when I’m 50, so I might as well do as much of it now.”
