Jessica Simpson finally tied the knot over the Fourth of July weekend, and PEOPLE had all the details behind the fabulous, yet emotional event!
Jessica and now-husband Eric Johnson are on the cover of the July 21st issue of PEOPLE and spilled about their July 5th nuptials, which was held at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif., with 275 guests in attendance. On the cover, Jessica looks gorgeous posing in her Carolina Herrera wedding gown in Eric’s arms, flashing her beautiful wedding ring. The issue also features exclusive pictures of the wedding, reception, and behind the scenes, including a cute photograph of Jessica holding her kids, daughter Maxwell, and son Ace.
Jessica had 12 bridesmaids (yikes!), and had her mother Tina and sister Ashlee, as maids of honor. Eric’s father, Stephen served as his best man, and Ashlee’s fiance, Evan Ross, was one of the groomsmen. Jessica’s father, Joe, officiated the ceremony, which was nondenominational.
Of course, the couple’s kids were the official flower girl and ring bearer (too cute!). “Before I walked out, I kept hearing all the applause,” Jessica said, “so my kids got standing ovations!” When Jessica did make her way down the aisle, Eric became emotional. “I saw my gorgeous wife coming towards me and she was crying,” he said in the interview. “I think my heart was exploding a little bit.” Jessica herself was caught up in the moment too. “It’s so surreal,” she says. “This has been something we’ve wanted ever since we met.”
The entire wedding ceremony cost a good $1.4 million. The price to pay for a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple! Congrats to Jessica and Eric! Best wishes to you and your families!
