Eminem Reconnects With Mother Debbie in ‘Highlights’ Music Video

What a happy Mother’s Day indeed! Eminem officially reunited with his estranged mother Debbie Mathers in the new music video to his single “Headlights,” putting aside their long-lasting feud.

The rapper often ranted terribly about his mom in past songs, speaking out about their issues. However, he used “Headlights” to apologize to Debbie, and acknowledge the role that he played in their disagreements. “Never thinking about who what I said hurt, in what verse / My mom probably got it the worst / The brunt of it, but as stubborn as we are / Did I take it too far?” Eminem delivers on the track. “‘Cleaning Out My Closet’ and all them other songs / But regardless I don’t hate you ’cause, Ma, / You’re still beautiful to me, ’cause you’re my mom.”

The video premiered yesterday, Sunday May 11, right on Mother’s Day! Directed by Spike Lee, the video also featured Fun‘s Nate Ruess on the melody. It was told from Debbie’s point of view, as she looks back on Emimen’s childhood, as well as her drug and alcohol use, and denied attempts to reconnect with her son. The end of the video was the most beautiful part, as she and Eminem hugged it out before going off separately.

Check out the reconciliation below!

Eminem has had issues with his mom for quite some time, so this reunion was definitely beautiful to see. It was long over due too. At the end of the day, they are mother and son. It was very nice to see them reunite and put aside their anger and issues. Life’s too short not to. Kudos to them!

Rihanna and Eminem Going On Tour Together!

rihanna

For those who love the way they lie, you can soon check out Rihanna and Eminem on the same stage more than likely singing that very song TOGETHER. Live. Well, at least we would hope it is live and not some pre-recorded nonsense.

Yep, in an exclusive interview with XXL magazine, Eminem confirmed the news of a summer collaboration with The Monster Tour. “There are some shows coming up with Rihanna. It’s a three-city tour: New York, L.A. and Detroit coming in August. The Monster Tour.”

Rihanna shared her excitement via Twitter with the following message response to Em, “‘@Eminem: NYC/DET/LA this August with @Rihanna! #TheMonsterTour – http://xxlne.ws/1e0Ua9I’ OH IM THERE!!!!!.”

Eminem is featured on the most recent cover of XXL alongside Beats cultivators Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. In the issue XXL celebrates Beats Electronics and the launch of Beats Music, a music streaming service centered around the curation of playlists by genre experts (including XXL). You can check out Eminem’s full interview in the magazine, on stands nationally March 11th.

I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see Eminem live. Anyone else?
