Ed Sheeran Compares Love To Cheesecake

edsheeran

Ed Sheeran is one of our favorite redheads. He doesn’t only write amazing love songs – he gives the best love advice too. Before embarking on his worldwide arena tour, Ed took a break to share his top tips to finding a perfect match.

Via Seventeen:

Ed Sheeran on how love is like cheesecake:
“Sometimes I wish I could go back and give my 17-year-old self love advice. I’d tell myself: ‘Ease into things slowly.’ If you have a piece of cheesecake, you don’t want to scarf it all down at once; you want to enjoy it. The same goes for love – don’t rush. Take time to figure out what you need in a relationship.”

It’s okay to be a little freaked out!
“I call this scared love. It sounds bad, but it’s not. I think we all get into situations where we’re terrified about letting ourselves fall in love because we don’t want to get hurt. But when you’re already friends and trust that person, that nervous feeling in the pit of your stomach is healthy. It means that there is something there – a deeper connection – that might be worth it. You just have to let yourself make the fall.”

Sheeran on the importance of being yourself:
“Quirks might seem weird when you’re young, but they make you stand out when you’re older and that’s an important thing.”

ED SHEERAN in Parade: “You Have to Be Polite”

Ed Sheeran, the current toast of the music business, talks to Parade about his heady rise to the top. Five years ago he was playing open-mic nights and selling his own CDs. These days, his singles “The A Team” and “Sing” are chart hits, and his first album, + (a.k.a. Plus) sold almost 4 million copies. He’ll be headlining arenas starting in August to promote his just-released follow-up, x (a.k.a. Multiply). Excerpts from the interview below:

On the “wicked night” after a Grammy Awards party in L.A. this year, when he and some friends piled the contents of his hotel room into the bathtub:
“I felt so bad and said, ‘Oh, someone’s going to have to clean this up.’ So I literally de-trashed my room and put it back to normal. If I trash a hotel room, will anyone like me more? You’re not going to have kids going, ‘Oh, that’s really cool and edgy.’ You’re probably going to get a ticked-off maid and that’s about it.”

On his current fame:
“I do pinch myself sometimes. … I grew up listening to John Mayer and Jason Mraz and the other day, [I got] emails from them. Stuff like that blows my mind.”

On how he feels about his screaming fans:
“I always feel quite awkward about it. I’ve never screamed at anybody in my life. Can you imagine walking into a shop and someone is screaming about a chocolate cake? You’d go, ‘What is that dude doing?’”

On having celebrity pals, among them Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox:
He calls Cox “the sweetest girl” and says that becoming friends with two stars of a show he grew up watching is “surreal.”

On the repeated references to drinking in his songs:
“I’m English—that’s what we do! I don’t have a drinking problem, though.”

On why he avoids misbehavior:
“It’s the time of being polite. Radio stations aren’t going to play you if you show up late. You have to be respectful and do your job.”

On his 10-year plan:
“I know this isn’t going to last forever. Now is the time when I’m making my musical statements and being cool and going to parties. But I don’t think I’ll be living this life in 10 years’ time. If I am, please slap me.”

On where he thinks he will be:
“Back home, bunch of kids. At 33, I should be starting to settle down.”

Ed Sheeran Says There IS Something That Felt Better Than Losing His Virginity

And yes, he has lost his virginity!

Being that Ed Sheeran sits firmly in the Twitter top 100 – and, recently, atop the Billboard Hot 100 – it’s no surprise his followers and ELLE readers alike tweeted in droves when we asked what they wanted to know about him for our first Social issue. In ELLE’s ‘Cherchez La Femme,’ we turned the column over to Sheeran’s fans and he weighed in on what’s sexy, losing his virginity and considering himself a sex symbol.

Check out the highlights from the interview below via Elle:

Ed Sheeran on what felt better than losing his virginity:
“Probably selling out Madison Square Garden three times.” Sheeran says that losing his virginity was a benchmark in his life but, “it wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Sheeran revealed that a quote from Bill Cosby is the guiding sentence by which he lives his life:
“’The key to failure is to try and please everyone.’ Be selfish…the rest will follow.”

His favorite quality in a woman:
“I have more sense than that [to date a woman with no sense of humor]. I don’t want to be friends with somebody like that.”

On considering himself a modern-day sex symbol:
“I wouldn’t say that I am. I think men with guitars who sing sensitive songs will just always have that sort of potential.”

Parade Exclusive: Ed Sheeran on Taylor Swift Dating Rumors and His 10-Year Plan

Via Parade.com:

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran’s songs showcase his acoustic soul, heartfelt lyrics, and some pretty wicked rapping skills. Over the past few years, Sheeran has taken America by storm, starting with his 2012 mega-hit “The A Team,” which was followed by a spot on Taylor Swift’s 2013 tour.

In some ways, Sheeran’s a male version of Swift: young, talented, ambitious, supremely confident, and unafraid to leap across musical genres and write songs inspired by people in his life. The song “Afire Love,” off his new album, x (a.k.a. Multiply) [set for a June 23 release], is about his grandfather Bill. “I finished writing it on the day of his funeral,” Sheeran, 23, tells Parade contributor David Browne in the June 29 issue, “and played it for my whole family. Before it went any further, I needed to get the blessing of the people I care about.”

And if you’re wondering, “Don’t,” a bitter song of romantic betrayal, is “about someone who’s well known, but not Taylor,” says Sheeran, who has denied ever dating Swift (rumor has it that fellow Brit pop sensation Ellie Goulding is the song’s subject).

He’s even got a 10-year plan. “I know this isn’t going to last forever. Now is the time when I’m making my musical statements and being cool and going to parties. But I don’t think I’ll be living this life in 10 years’ time. If I am, please slap me.” Where will he be instead? “Back home, bunch of kids,” he says without hesitation. “At 33, I should be starting to settle down.” He won’t name his current girlfriend, though he says she’s a chef.

Sheeran dishes on trashing a hotel room (then putting it all back together!), making friends with Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston, and more in the June 29 issue of Parade.

Ed Sheeran Covers Beyonce’s “Drunk In Love” (VIDEO)

Singer Ed Sheeran stopped by “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, where he talked about his new song “SING,” his new album, and he even did a little singing.

Interestingly enough, he didn’t sing his own song. Instead, he sang Beyonce’s Drunk In Love! And he did so pretty awesomely too.

To be honest, I could listen to Ed sing the phone book. His voice is so soothing to me.

Ed’s new album X (pronounced “multiply”) is due on June 23rd, and he recently revealed the first single “SING” which was produced by Pharrell. If you are a Pharrell fan, you know dang well this song is good! Funny thing is, Ed wasn’t so sure about doing the song. At any rate, it happened and so did Sheeran’s cover of Beyonce’s Drunk In Love.

Check it out below. It’s pretty sweet.

Selena Gomez and Ed Sheeran Reportedly Hooking Up

No more Bieber fever!  Completely done with Justin BieberSelena Gomez reportedly has found a new potential love with British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.

A insider told Us Weekly that the two “are hooking up” and that Selena’s good girlfriend Taylor Swift, who’s currently touring with Ed, was behind them getting together. She apparently introduced the couple during Memorial Day Weekend.

Now, I’m by no means a true blue Belieber, but you best believe I’m choosing Justin for looks. For the record, though, what attracts Selena to Ed is his maturity, which is at a whole other level compared to her 19-year-old ex. A second source stated, “She got sick of having to take care of Justin like he was her child. This is a nice escape from the drama.”

Can’t say I blame her. Justin is still very much a kid. He’s young, getting panties thrown at him on stage, and all. A guy as young as he is with his fame is not about to settle down right now. However, Ed may just be a good look. Girls like the sentimental, mature type. We’ll see what happens!
