Celebrity Gossip Heard All Over The Web

Sherri Shepherd Leaving The View, Jenny McCarthy Might Be Rolling Out Too!

It’s official! This will be the last season of The View for Sherri Shepherd. The co-host announced that she will be leaving the talk show after 7 years.

“It’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on,” Sherri said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight.

Jenny McCarthy, who’s only been on the show for one season, responded to the news with some tweets that implied she might be leaving herself pretty soon.

TMZ has suggested that both Sherri and Jenny (if she really is leaving), are not going voluntarily, but had been fired due to ratings and personality conflicts. The site also said that Bill Geddie, the executive producer, would not be returning to the show either. An anonymous source told Entertainment Weekly that Sherri might just be replaced by a male co-host next fall. A statement from ABC did not make the firing rumors any better. “’The View’ will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively,” the network said, according to Huffington Post.

This change to the lineup would leave Whoopi Goldberg as the sole host of the show, since Barbara Walters is retiring after this season. ABC is really going to have to work to find some great new faces. I would say it’s time to hang up the hat on the show, but I still think the concept of the show is and always has been great. Bringing together hosts with different views  to discuss hot topics in the world, whether politics, world events, or pop culture, has really worked for the show. That’s why other talk shows have been created along the same line. Hopefully, ABC is able to bring together a good lineup!

Cee Lo Green Is Done With The Voice For Good!

Cee Lo Green is moving on! After four seasons on NBC reality singing competition The Voice, the singer has announced that he won’t be returning to the show….ever!

“I’m going to continue my relationship with NBC,” he said in an appearance on the Feb. 19 episode of Ellen.   “I have a television show development deal with them as well and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year. But yeah, I’m going to miss The Voice too. So I’m not coming back guys.”

Ellen DeGeneres asked Cee Lo to clarify. “I’m not coming back at all,” he said. “I don’t want to wear out my welcome there. You know what I’m saying. I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven’t released an album in four years. I’m almost done with my album.”

Lionel Richie joined Cee Lo on the show, and they made the announcement that they’ll also be going on tour together! “He’ll be with me, on the road,” Lionel chimed in.

Cee Lo was one of the original four mentors on The Voice sitting with Adam LevineBlake Shelton and Christina Aguilera. Both he and Christina were judges for seasons 1-3. Shakira and Usher took their spots for season 4, but they came back for season 5.

I don’t watch The Voice often, but there’s definitely a lot of talent there that Cee Lo has been a part of helping to groom. I’m sure he’ll be missed, but I’m ready to see what he has cooking up in the music realm!

Elisabeth Hasselback Leaving The View for Fox News

Seems Elisabeth Hasselback is saying deuces to The View and moving on to something a little bit more up her alley! The TV show co-host is leaving The View to join Fox & Friends on the more conservative FOX cable news network in September.

“Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on The View,” Fox News Channel president Roger Ailes said in a statement today. “She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise.”

“I have been a long-time fan of Fox & Friends and am excited to be joining their team in September as it is an honor to call the Fox News Channel my new television home,” Elisabeth added.

Elisabeth will join regular Fox & Friends presenters Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade in mid-September. Their longtime cohost Gretchen Carlson has inked a deal for her own daytime talk show on the network, to start airing in early fall.

It was already rumored that Elisabeth was leaving back in March, after Joy Behar announced her own departure when her contract runs out in August.

Barbara Walters, who is retiring next year herself and previously denied rumors that Elisabeth was leaving, said in a statement, “We have had ten wonderful years with Elisabeth and she will now be swimming in new waters,” Walters said in a new statement. “We will miss her and wish her everything good.”

I’m sure Elisabeth will do well at Fox. She was always the most conservative of The View ladies anyway. My main question is, though, who’s going to be filling up all these seats on the panel now that half of them are leaving?!

Alexis Bellino Leaving Real Housewives of Orange County

After three seasons on the Real Housewives of Orange Couny, Alexis Bellino is saying adios to her castmates and the drama they bring!

“Alexis was really tired of being bullied and chose home and family life over celebrity,” a source said to Us Weekly. Alexis just “wanted to go back to her simple life in Orange County.”

In July, Alexis and her husband, Jim Bellino, spoke out about the verbal bullying and attacks they say they suffered from costar Tamra Barney, who called Alexis “Jesus Jugs” during the 2012 Real Housewives of Orange County reunion special. “The Real Housewives of Orange County is a reality show that is meant to entertain and engage audiences with the lives of its cast members,” the couple said in a statement, also stating that they were thinking about suing Tamra. “This vicious and malicious attack on our family will no longer be tolerated. We have continually tried to take the high road, however, if necessary, we are prepared to defend ourselves against these unfounded, slanderous and defamatory remarks to the fullest extent of the law.”

Alexis hasn’t had the best repertoire with most of her castmates anyway, so maybe it is time to go! I’m sure she’ll miss the Bravo checks, but you have to do what’s right for you.
