As they prepare for their U.S. arena tour this fall, which kicks off October 10 at the Comcast Arena in Everett, WA, the Smashing Pumpkins new single “Panopticon” has just hit the radio. The standout track is from the band’s acclaimed album Oceania, which caught the attention of critics following its release.

SWAG GIVEAWAY: Smashing Pumpkins “Oceania” Album

The Smashing Pumpkins have released their seventh studio album Oceania today, June 19th and CELEBRITY VIP LOUNGE has TWO copies of the album to give away to two lucky VIP readers.

Part of their 44-song work-in-progress Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, Oceania is “an album within an album” and was created by the band as an immersive album experience for listeners. All 13 tracks premiered simultaneously to fans and critics alike the week before release, with no specific single chosen to herald the new album.

Oceania was recorded at singer/guitarist Billy Corgan’s private studio in Chicago with his bandmates: guitarist Jeff Schroeder, drummer Mike Byrne and bassist/vocalist Nicole Fiorentino. The album is streaming in full at SPOceania.com and from SmashingPumpkins.com, where fans can sign up for the Smashing Pumpkins Record Club for the latest news and updates. Oceania is available now, in stores and online (iTunes / Amazon / SP.com).

Billy Corgan Starts Chicago Wrestling Company

Billy Corgan‘s gone from Smashing Pumpkins to smashing skulls.

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman has joined with two wrestling promoter brothers to debut the first show of Resistance Pro, an indie wrestling company, on Friday at a downtown Chicago dance club. Corgan describes himself as a childhood wrestling fan who fell away from it, only to rediscover it as an adult hobby before learning about the business.
