Levine has been a mainstay on “The Voice” for the past six seasons, but will he return for a seventh? “Extra’s” special correspondent Charissa Thompson caught up with the singer, who admitted he was excited about the Pharrell news, but didn’t know if he would be joining new coach Pharrell for the next cycle.
Adam said, “Man that’s great…When I found out that news, don’t know if we’ll be joining him because once again I’m checking my schedule, so when I verify I will be more excited.”
Usher also weighed in on Pharrell, saying, “I’m really happy, given that I felt like maybe I had some influence in the decision, given the fact that he came in as a mentor with me.”
Shakira offered her support, saying, “I love Pharrell, he’s great, I’ve worked with him in the past, he’s really awesome, he’s gonna do a terrific job I’m sure.”
I’m sure Pharrell will be awesome, but if Adam leaves I think it definitely will be a different show.
As if he’s one to talk. And after reading excerpts from his latest interview, you will say what everyone else wants to say but we will, because we are never ever scared of poptrix…
Sit down, famewhore. Pot, kettle, you’re blacker than Whoopi Goldberg’s lips! And not only is he a hypocrite, now he’s a rich hypocrite. About $35 million richer thanks to NBC’s ‘The Voice’, which has dramatically increased his public profile and showcased his antics.
“As a pop star, you don’t have to be that smart for people to think you’re intelligent. The bar is f–king low; if you have half a brain, they think you’re amazing. So I have that going for me,” he jokes, referring to his likability on The Voice, before getting serious and suggesting fans relate to his honesty:
“I don’t lie, and that’s unusual in a world of media-obsessed, media- trained f–king liars who will sit here with you and totally bulls–t you to further their own careers,” he insisted before adding, “I say the wrong thing, I offend people, and I piss people off, all of which I like.”
How many times has Adam Levine pissed you off this year already? Or how about today?!
The coaches for hit NBC show The Voice are changing up for Season 4! Usher and Shakira will take the place of present coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, NBC announced. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are staying on, at least through the next season.
Christina and Cee Lo wanted to take a break to work on other projects. Christina will be touring to promote her new album, Lotus, and Cee Lo has plans for new music and a scripted comedy about his life. However, both promise that they will be back! “By pursuing my first passion of music during the break, I am also able to come back and offer even more to my team on The Voice in the future,” Christina said in a statement.
“I will return for season five and will be watching season four,” Cee Lo was quoted as saying.
“We are thrilled to welcome Usher and Shakira to The Voice,” Robert Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment, said in statement. “Doing two back-to-back cycles of this show requires a tremendous amount of time and we are happy to accommodate the commitments made by Christina and Cee Lo.”
That will be an interesting change to the line up!

Adam Levine had a nice guys’ night out on Tuesday over at Dominick’s restaurant in West Hollywood. The singer was honored with a private dinner for his June/July Details magazine cover. He was pretty lowkey in terms of fashion, rocking jeans, sneakers, a T-shirt and jacket.
Adam and some of his guy friends met inside the restaurant with Glee‘s Matthew Morrison. Jessica Alba’s husband Cash Warren also came out to support.
“The trio sat at the bar all smiles, sipping beer and catching up,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE.
Also in attendance was Seth Rogen’s wife Lauren Miller, who the source says “looked stunning in a great cocktail dress.”
Well, if you haven’t gotten enough of Adam Levine on the small screen (and can you get enough of Adam Levine?), than you’re in luck! And if you happen to love the horror show “American Horror Story” than you must be in heaven right now, because Adam Levine will be featured on the show, American Horror Story, in Season 2. His character will be “one-half of a couple known as ‘the Lovers.'”
The whole thing is very hush-hush Adam claims in a conversation with Ryan Seacrest at E! News, and states, “…It’s pretty much happening…I don’t know how much I can divulge, because Ryan [Murphy] is very under wraps.” (Anyone else get a “mummy” visual after that statement? Okay, good. I’m not the only one.)
So far details continue to be leaked out very slowly in terms of what will happen the second season, but it supposedly includes a mental institution, the East Coast, and many season one cast members. Sounds like a good time to me! Maybe a little bit of the Jersey Shore gone bad?
On the subject of acting and his lack of experience, Adam doesn’t seem to be worried. “It’s going to be fun…I think I’m going to be kind of playing myself, so hopefully it will be easy.” Well that self apparently includes a lot of shots of him without a shirt on, so rest assured Adam’s female fans will be very pleased.
Now, who will be playing his co-companion in this “lovers” duet? (We know for sure it won’t be his model (ex) girlfriend Anne V) So far those details haven’t been revealed yet.
But if you haven’t been a fan of American Horror Story before, this may be some incentive to get caught up on the series.
Jennifer Love Hewitt stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show today to promote her saucy show The Client List but instead of the show we get to hear about J-Love’s single life and what Hollywood star she would like to date.
Ellen: Are you in a relationship, right now?
Jennifer: I am not. I am very single.
Ellen: You’re very single. Is that good, very single?
Jennifer: It’s good. Yes, it is. It’s good.
Ellen: Do you have you’re eye on anybody?
Jennifer: Well, yeah, I always have my eyes out… I just read two days ago that Adam Levine is single again…I’m just saying.
Ellen pretends to call him…
Jennifer: Look, we would be cute…
Ellen: Next time I see him… He’s just a hot guy in general…
Let me just say that Adam Levine would be a step up from other guys she dated. Remember her and Carson Daly? Good gawd but I guess he was kind of cool when he was doing TRL. Ok, maybe not. He was downright corny as hell.
So I guess I sort of approve of J-Love with Adam Levine, although ultimately I see that ending badly.
Justin Bieber is finishing up his Believe album and it seems as if he is pulling out all the stops to make it the best album possible. Case in point? The Biebs has pulled in Maroon 5’s front man Adam Levine to join him in the studio.
Last night via his Twitter he told his zillion followers that he is working on a new project with the rocker.
He tweeted, “Long night in the studio. Good seeing big bro Adam Levine – we got a big idea coming! new supergroup. Adam Levine I don’t think the world is ready for this supergroup.”
He also added that Kenny Hamilton was also in the studio helping along the project.
The judge and vocal coach of “The Voice” was quick to respond via his Twitter saying, “The best part is that Kenny is the singer. #pitchy.”
All you Bieber fanatics will have to wait until summer for the big album release.
Adam Levine is having great success with The Voice and Simon Cowell is seeing that. But the music mogul is dead set on making a competition among the top talent shows in one huge television spectacular.
In case you haven’t heard, Cowell is determined to pitch the next winner of The X Factor against the champions of his ex show American Idol and the new wildly successful The Voice.
Cowell recently offered up a challenge via Twitter saying, “Maybe the winner of The X Factor USA this yr (year) should compete with (the) winner of The Voice & (American) Idol in a super final. Just a thought. I’d be up for it.”
But Levine thinks it isn’t such a good idea. Adam responded by telling Access Hollywood, However, “Simon’s just so clever. He’s so hell bent on competing with other shows. We’re not really interested in a way… That’s kind of a cool idea, actually, but I’m not so sure we’re totally interested in what everyone else is doing. We’re just kind of worrying about what we do because we all know the more we worry about everybody else, the more the quality of what you’re doing tends to suffer. So, we want to just do what we do.”
I don’t think it isn’t a good idea either. I’m thinking that Simon Cowell is just a tad pissed that he didn’t think of The Voice concept first.
KDrew is a fiercely talented singer/songwriter/producer who instantly reminded me of Adam Levine and Justin Timberlake when I heard him sing. But, he does have his own style to bring to the industry. The guy recently put together his debut EP, “Free” and made it available as a free download. In addition to “Free”, KDrew will release SIX more self-produced EPs on the first of every month through the month of May! Saweet! Celebrity VIP Lounge sat down with KDrew to discuss his background, music, the Justin Timberlake comparisons and more.
DANITY (DD): So excited to chat with you KDrew and I know a lot of my fabulous VIP ladies will be thrilled to get to know you a little bit better.
KDREW: I’m excited as well and really appreciate the time!
DD: SO tell me a little bit about how you grew up, where you grew up and what inspired you to pursue a career in music?
KDREW: I grew up in Howell, NJ in a house surrounded by music. My dad DJ’d and was in a few bands. So growing up, music was pretty much all I knew besides sports. Career wise it was just the passion I had for music that made me wanna peruse a career in it. My dad always told me, “if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”
DD: Who or what inspires you musically?
KDREW: What’s cool about the way I work is that I can be anywhere when inspiration hits and I can break out my laptop and just start working right then and there. A lot of times being on the road, I’ll get a coffee from starbucks and get all hyped up then I’ll just start working right in the shoppe. It’s funny because people around me are working on thesis papers or reading and I’m sitting there jamming out on my headphones. It’s a lot of fun.
DD: You have been a busy guy. While you hear of many peeps putting out a mix tape, you are putting out SEVEN. Why seven?
KDREW: Nowadays there’s so much content out there where it’s easy for your stuff to go unheard. People are putting out new music every single second. So I feel like putting that much material out there will at least keep the movement going. Plus my fans have been waiting very patiently for original releases. So they really deserve it!
DD: So not only do you write, record and produce, you also co-founded Indie Music Group, your very own label. First of all it is refreshing to see more talented individuals like you entering the music business rather than the manufactured studio artists. What is your favorite part of the industry, the behind the scenes or being front and center (performing)?
KDREW: It’s everything really. You sign up for all that stuff when you take on the roll that I’m taking on. I really love every aspect of what I do. If there was one thing tho it’d have to be making the music. It’s the root of what everything revolves around in the business. Without music there would be no music industry.
DD: Of all of the songs you have created, what is your favorite and why?
KDREW: I really don’t have a favorite. A lot of time and passion goes into each and every song. They’re like my children lol. So to pick a favorite is just way too hard!
DD: What was the last concert you attended?
KDREW: The last concert I attended was Chris Browns F.A.M.E tour. I really don’t have a ton of time to go to concerts but whenever I get a chance I try to catch one here and there.
DD: After the release of all of the mix tapes, what are your plans? Any touring in the near future?
KDREW: It’s definitely going to be touring. I also have a couple other tricks up my sleeve but everyone is just gonna have to wait and see what they are!
DD: What has been the biggest challenge for you thus far in your musical journey?
KDREW: It’s gotta be just doing everything yourself. IMG (Indie Music Group) has no help from any labels or anything of that nature. So every step we take is in the shoes that we made ourselves. Sometimes things don’t work out the way we plan and we could have been working on that particular thing for months. But as a team and company you have to be strong and continue to move forward.
DD: Many are comparing you to the likes of Justin Timberlake and Adam Levine, what do you have to bring to the industry that these guys haven’t already brought?
KDREW: I’m bringing music that comes solely from me. I don’t have any grammy winning producers or grammy winning engineers working on my music. It’s just me, my laptop and home studio. So hopefully I bring a little light to the industry for artists that are being held back because they don’t have someone pressing record or playing them a track. I hope they feel empowered to get up and go learn it all so they can be who they want to be!
In an interview that was released today, American Idol judge Randy Jackson got a little sassy for his britches, offending The Voice judge Adam Levine.
Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Levine make an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, February 3rd to chat about Randy Jackson’s comments on “The Voice”.
ON RANDY JACKSON’S COMMENTS ABOUT THE VOICE:
Ellen: So Randy Jackson said, basically because there are bunch of singing competitions on the air right now. Randy said that, ‘The Voice” is basically kind of a second chance place. People that don’t get in someplace else go to ‘The Voice.”
Adam Levine: I heard about this. Shame on Randy Jackson for saying that because he out of anybody should know that if you’re in this business you need second, third, fourth and fifth chances. So we love and embrace that being part of the show. You know, god bless Randy. He was a working musician for a long time and had a lot of success and then the show “Idol” kind of blew him out of the water. And he is a household name now. It was an irresponsible thing to say that.
We heard the rumor before that The Voice co-stars Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera were clashing egos and yet again, we are faced with another rumor. This time we are hearing that Levine and Aguilera got into a little tiff at the AMA’s rehearsal. So what is the deal? Are these two really not getting along?
