“Extra’s” Mario Lopez caught up with singer Ricky Martin backstage at the first iHeart Radio Fiesta Latino on November 22nd, where the superstar opened up about his 30 year musical career, returning to Broadway and doing a one-man show, touring with his twin boys, what he’s thankful for this Thanksgiving and more.
On his 30 year career in music, Ricky told Mario,“Maybe it all started like a game. One thing for sure, I was passionate about being on stage and I’m just as passionate today.”
On appearing recently on Broadway and his plans to do a one-man show Ricky shared, ” I would definitely go back to Broadway. I would love to do a one man show.” Mario added, “Oh, really?” and Ricky said, “Did I just say that? Shhhh…I’m going to start working on it very soon.”
As for touring with his 6-year-old twin boys, Matteo and Valentino, Ricky revealed, “The kids are on the road with me man, they were born into this and they don’t know anything else, they are very happy.” Mario asked, “You see little performers or no?” Ricky revealed, “One of them is, he’s six years old, and he’s beat boxing like crazy. So yes, he’s into music.”
Talking charity work with pal Eva Longoria and The Eva Longoria foundation and the Ricky Martin Foundation uniting forces, Ricky said “ …I am very lucky to be working with her [Eva]…This is only the beginning of a very beautiful philanthropic marriage.”
And as for Thanksgiving and what he is thankful for this holiday, Ricky said he’s thankful for “Health, family, of course, success…just to be able to walk onto stage and see twenty thousand people every night is fascinating.”
